-When did the Jehovah's Witnesses start preaching about Global Warming?

... I originally accidentally spelt that as 'Jenova's Witnesses'. *facepalm* Curse you VGCats!

Also, is Barmaids worth going to?

Doesn't that step into their Political Neutrality bit?

Dunno. *scratches head*

Admittedly, I don't know a lot about Jehovah's Witnesses except for the fact that they actually go out and preach, based on what the Bible said. And as annoying as that can be sometimes, I respect them for actually going out and doing that when they don't know who they're going to run into. Say, like, crazy pagans. *waves* Hail Eris.

AND! They quoted Old Testament! \o/ King James version granted (>P), but Old Testament! *Squees*
-okay, yeah, I'm weird. ^^;;

You should have asked them all about their religon and then said, "Sorry I'm a pagan, very happy with it, though I do appreciate the Bible for it's fictional value."

My friend's whole family turned Jehovah's Witness. Not saying this out of disrespect to them, but they're not really Christians so much as a cult. They made their own Bible translation with certain edits that favor their beliefs, which are based on Arianism.

Without reading the article yet, my guess is that it goes with their belief that eternal happiness will be lived on Earth as it is now, just with the world being made over again and everyone being good. From what I've heard (could be wrong), they place humans and animals on the same level. As such, they're staunch environmentalists.

In the 19 years I spent as a JW, I never heard such a sentiment. I wouldn't really call them environmentalists per se either, since they don't actually care about doing anything to help the planet themselves and believe in leaving it all up to their god.

Thanks for the clarification! Maybe that was just the personal view of my friend's little sister. I do remember seeing environmental issues featured in Awake!, though.
