Crossover Conversation Plunnie:
Feb. 5th, 2007 09:14 pmYsabet: You know what would be a natural crossover, anytime anywhere for The Grey Zone? Doctor Who.
Icka!: We did one already, no one ever seems to believe me.
*Icka! Explains Where And When*
Icka!: -And we're not writin' another one! >P
Ysabet: I know, I know...
Icka!: Although if ANYONE WANTS TO, I'm not gonna protest...
Ysabet: Oh gods... Captain Jack... He'd flirt with -everyone-.
Icka!: And Kaito would flirt back... Two Flirts! No Waiting!!!
and now I'm gonna curl up and read Rurouni Kenshin and wait for this headache to fade @_@

Date: 2007-02-06 05:39 am (UTC)... actually one of the fandoms that got me into Yaoi... the Kenshin/Kaoru fics drove me nuts with the sacchrine 'Tuw Wuv/They're MEANT to be together' stuff, started looking for the Saito/Sano ones because it meant you had to have a PLOT to make it work, dammit. ^^;;

Date: 2007-02-06 05:52 am (UTC)The Kiku and the Shinai is a rather well-known fic in the fandom that I love to pieces. It's just written well, which is always appreciated.
In These Final Hours sounds like it should be a sappy romance, but while the romance is a huge part of it, it's got great characterization and a strong lead female in Kaoru. It's an AU that I'm forever grateful to have stumbled upon.
The RKRCFA links to a lot of really fabulous fic, of any variety. Most "fandom best" awards tend to suck, but these are usually spot on, and not just a popularity contest; these fics are legitimately really good.
Ronin Kaoru: Tokyo Arc isn't the best written of stories, I'll be honest, but the idea is good, and the writing evolves, I guess? It's not bad, but it's an interesting take on the series. I used to have the authoress friended on my LJ but we simply moved apart. Her other, later work is a lot better; "Grace," to name one in particular, is just breathtaking in its detail.
I think that's all I got right now. God, I miss the classics.

Date: 2007-02-06 08:34 pm (UTC)*chuckles* One of them is mine (http://www.mischif.net/writings/kenshin.htm), much to my shock/amusement/horror. Was nominated back in 2000, when we were first introduced to the series, for a silly little thing called Kenshin and the Metal Box (http://www.mischif.net/writings/archive/rklaundry.htm). One of those bizzare fics written in 10 minutes. ^^;; Never was actually -active- in the fandom, but it still got nominated. @_@;;
Oooo... lotsa fics I haven't read! Thank you!!!

Date: 2007-02-07 03:55 am (UTC)Can I stress that first one? It's just gorgeous, and felt the K/K was handled in a way true to the original material.
I was making my way through Side Effects and then I saw it was mpreg and I just about died laughing. Especially since I'm reading a Kakashi/Sakura fic at the same time. *laughs*
