Ysabet: You know what would be a natural crossover, anytime anywhere for The Grey Zone? Doctor Who.
Icka!: We did one already, no one ever seems to believe me.
*Icka! Explains Where And When*
Icka!: -And we're not writin' another one! >P
Ysabet: I know, I know...
Icka!: Although if ANYONE WANTS TO, I'm not gonna protest...
Ysabet: Oh gods... Captain Jack... He'd flirt with -everyone-.
Icka!: And Kaito would flirt back... Two Flirts! No Waiting!!!

and now I'm gonna curl up and read Rurouni Kenshin and wait for this headache to fade @_@

...Can I ask a favor? Nothing hard, I swear. Just...do you have any good Naruto fic recs? Because I searched through two archives and I honestly can't do it. The character assassinations...!

In order to keep this from not going totally OT: your website has a tendency to crap out on me ca. 11.30 CST. Is that when you're usually updating? 'Cos that would explain it. I'm 'marking that fic, tho. I love me a good Doctor Who crossover; they're so rare.

And OMG. Kenshin. Gosh, I loved it so much. There are a lot of good fics in that fandom. A damn shame a lot of the archives went under years ago.

Am looking for Kenshin fics currently. Any recs? It's been quite a few years since we read that fandom.
... actually one of the fandoms that got me into Yaoi... the Kenshin/Kaoru fics drove me nuts with the sacchrine 'Tuw Wuv/They're MEANT to be together' stuff, started looking for the Saito/Sano ones because it meant you had to have a PLOT to make it work, dammit. ^^;;

I have always liked a healthy dose of kickass!Kaoru in my fic, so sadly that's the vein you're going to find my recs running in. Although I'll be honest - the traditional K/K fic really drove me batty, as you said. Most of my recs are Action/Adventure, which is nice; stronger plots, I suppose.

The Kiku and the Shinai is a rather well-known fic in the fandom that I love to pieces. It's just written well, which is always appreciated.

In These Final Hours sounds like it should be a sappy romance, but while the romance is a huge part of it, it's got great characterization and a strong lead female in Kaoru. It's an AU that I'm forever grateful to have stumbled upon.

The RKRCFA links to a lot of really fabulous fic, of any variety. Most "fandom best" awards tend to suck, but these are usually spot on, and not just a popularity contest; these fics are legitimately really good.

Ronin Kaoru: Tokyo Arc isn't the best written of stories, I'll be honest, but the idea is good, and the writing evolves, I guess? It's not bad, but it's an interesting take on the series. I used to have the authoress friended on my LJ but we simply moved apart. Her other, later work is a lot better; "Grace," to name one in particular, is just breathtaking in its detail.

I think that's all I got right now. God, I miss the classics.

*chuckles* One of them is mine (http://www.mischif.net/writings/kenshin.htm), much to my shock/amusement/horror. Was nominated back in 2000, when we were first introduced to the series, for a silly little thing called Kenshin and the Metal Box (http://www.mischif.net/writings/archive/rklaundry.htm). One of those bizzare fics written in 10 minutes. ^^;; Never was actually -active- in the fandom, but it still got nominated. @_@;;

Oooo... lotsa fics I haven't read! Thank you!!!

*laughs* Fandom is a strange thing.

Can I stress that first one? It's just gorgeous, and felt the K/K was handled in a way true to the original material.

I was making my way through Side Effects and then I saw it was mpreg and I just about died laughing. Especially since I'm reading a Kakashi/Sakura fic at the same time. *laughs*

Snowblind by Nekotsuki is a good one about Kenshin/Battousai and Saito. No romance, but the characters are spot on.

Haven't updated recently, my supscription to the current host ends in Feb, think I'm gonna hafta find a new host, this is getting stupid.

-any suggestions for domain hosting that anyone knows of? I'm currently playing $28 a year for 100 megs storage, 1 gig a month transfer and no ads.

And m'not writing another TGZ/Doctor Who crossover. Nyah. ~_^

Um... Naruto...
'Side Effects' (http://chibirisuchan.livejournal.com/11782.html) of course, Ysabet's been reading one called 'For the Love of my Friends' (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2147268/1/) by Foxie-sama on ff.net that's long and really good AU. A friend of mine loves anything by SOC Puppet (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/187516/). A different Perspective (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2342935/1/) by Book of Changes is an odd AU as well. Anything by [livejournal.com profile] maldoror_gw, she does some VERY good Lee/Gaara which sounds totally squicky and is not. SelfReliance (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2427539/1/) is another mpreg that makes too much sense.

Umm... hopefully that's a good start-?

Okay... but a Cap'n Jack crossover isn't a Doctor Who crossover, is it? **does the Chibi!Eyes thing** He'd hit on them both simultaneously, and he'd just LOVE the Red House.

Cap'n Jack: "So... it's bigger on the inside than the outside? Sounds familiar. Does the bed enlarge if you need it to as well?"
Kaito & Hakuba: "Why?"
Cap'n Jack: "Might come in handy... Oh hey, a stairwell! There's this thing you can do on stairs, y'know, where you put one person on the landing and another person two steps up and another person on their--"
Hakuba: "I'lljustgoandmakesometea,shallI?" **scurries away**
Kaito: ".......okay, keep talking. You put the third person where?"
