Being followed by a moon shadow
Dec. 17th, 2005 10:33 amLast night Doc and I joined some KAOS members on a moonlight walk from the 'Sign of the Takahe' to the 'Sign of the Kiwi'.
-when we first got the invite, I thought that the 'Signs' would be carvings, or statues or monuments. Turns out that they're kinda monuments.
They're historic pubs. *snickers*
But the sun didn't finish setting until after 10:30, which feels kind of weird, really. So we set out on our intrepid journey, going through the forest with only minimal use of flashlight and some drunkeness. (lovely scene where one guy had a camelpack on and was trying to get a lady to drink from it. "That's not water in there!")
We get up to the sign of the Kiwi and hang out in the parking lot, in this middle of a pass, watching the city lights below. Someone had brought a double boiler with hot gooey chocolate in it, penquin shaped marshmallows, fudge, cake and gingerbread people that we all dipped in the fondue while mulled wine was passed around.
Can we say awesome? Yeah.
Cloudbank started to roll in so we headed back, but this time no one wanted to use flashlights. It was kinda neat, it was like everything started to glow in a way. Didn't need the flashlights, cause you could still see. Although my depth perseption was crap-all.
So on the way back, I have the song 'Paint it black' ("No colors anymore I want them to turn black") as the cloud bank is sweeping in and covering up all the lights of the city. Brrrr.
Got back to the cars about 1:30 in the morning.
Awesome trip to take.

Date: 2005-12-17 02:27 am (UTC)But yeah... prolly about 3 weeks was about when either summer finally hit here or I stopped noticing it so much. I'm back in tanktops today... ^__^
Although I still miss my friends. It's weird not going to tea to talk with Gail and the ladies or snark with MOrgan or talk DC with Ysabet, cause suddenly they're far away. ;_;
