Okay... we only have a little bit left of internet access before we have to go back to hit and run attacks at the libary.
So we're looking for ficcage to download and save on our 'puter at home to read at a later date.
Anyone have any favourite LONG fic they'd like to recomend? Slash or gen, doesn't matter what the paring is as long as it's well written.
Um... current series we've been reading:
Due South, Harry Potter, The Sentinel, Stargate SG-1, Xena, FullMetal Alchemist or just about any Anime series really... ^^;; As long as we're familiar with it. And if we're not familiar, we'll get familiar. >D

Date: 2005-01-08 05:34 am (UTC)All of the following are very well-written, very plot-oriented fics. Characterization is solid throughout, humour is interjected accordingly, and angst (if present) is used as it should be. They're all awesomely good, the top of their game. All of them are 15+ chapters, except for the 2 HP humour fics, which are 10-ish.
Harry Potter
After the End - THE epic post-Hogwarts story, written Pre-OotP, with in character characters, plot twists, and Ron/Hermione romance. A must read for ANY HP fan. It's about the characters and their lives after Voldy's death and what Harry does now that his "purpose" is complete. Lots of angst, laughs, and UST/RST.
Bury the Hatchet - Epic HP fic, post-Hogwarts, about a mystery. Hermione, who hasn't had contact with her mates in years, is an accomplished professor at Hogwarts when her neat little life is turned upside-down. Toss in an ailing Dumbledore, petrified students, and a thrilling mystery that would make Conan proud, and you have a winner!
The Goddess Diaries - silly story based on Meg Cabot's Princess Diaries series. Basically, Hermione finds out she's actually a Goddess of Mount Olympus. Things go downhill from there. It's cute, it's funny, it's hilarious.
Miss Hogwarts - When Hogwarts decides to host a beauty pageant for charity, the prefects decide to up the ante by adding a twist - the contenders will be drag queens. Really funny, solid plot, and enough UST to butter your toast with. Primarily an H/G fic with some slashy-toned moments.
The Legend of Zelda
The Return - The BEST Zelda fic out there. 42 chapters, awesome characterization, a plot that will keep you guessing; it's all there. The best part is, you don't have to have played the game; the story is self-explanatory. Great OCs, wonderful voice, and perfect use of snark. I highly reccomend this story. You'll be hooked. And it's complete, and the sequel's in the works. And that more than lives up to the original. Essentially, it's a retelling of Ocarina of Time, but it's not the normal, bland kind. I love this story; I can't stop raving about it.
Inuyasha
Anything by Rozefire is just awesomely good. Most of her work is long (I"m talking 1000 pages typed) and AU, so you don't have to be following the anime / manga at all. I personally reccommend 28 Days, Soul Exchange, Bottled Genius, and Dead Famous. Give her a try; her stuff is REALLY good, IMHO.
Also, there's Beast, a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast, except with time-coninuum vortex issues, a dead Naraku, a Kikyo ghost, an alive Kohaku, and Sesshomaru's kids. Humour, angst, mild mystery, angst, darkish themes, angst, and drama. Did I mention angst? But it's good angst, not cheesy angst. It's good, I promise.
I can give you a few Kenshin and a Slayers rec or two. All you must do is ask.
Cheers, Icka. <3
