[RL story] [261] I hate Odin's Day.
Nov. 19th, 2003 09:28 amRead somewhere that people with A-type blood go up and down emotionally in times of stress before they just even out.
-I'm A-postive, by the way.
Working 10 hour days this week.
Doing the minimum of 2 peoples jobs at work. Plus special projects and some of the higher ups freaking out from their mistakes. And then my supervisor called in sick, meaning I'm the Supervisor today.
The higher supervisor's response: "Oh, you're young, it shouldn't be a big deal" ¬_¬*
Either I'm currently in a slow burn before I go boom, or I'm past the point of careing.
She looked at the computer monitor and blinked in a mixture of shock and dismay.
'Cannot run program. No Memory.'
Then it flashed over to the blue screen of doom. This stayed for a few seconds, then resumed to the previous screen, but with a black double-sided arrow instead of the normal curser.
And everything stopped.
Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart.
Nothing.
Again.
Nothing.
Repeatedly. In time to the music.
Nothing.
She leaned back for a moment, hands neatly folded in her lap as she gave the computer time to work over it's problems with a bored air.
The music changed. The screen remained frozen.
With a contemplative air, Jess took off her glasses, folded them neatly and set them politely by the phone. Then rolled the office chair back to a respectable distance.
And bashed her head against the keyboard.
Repeatedly.
With enough force to make the co-worker on the desk to the left startle in surprise.
The screen still remained frozen.
Bashing done, she calmly sat back up, the blank expression still firmly on her face, picked up the glasses and slipped them back on her head.
"Feeling better?" Her co-worker asked, one of his eyebrows arched in either amusement or concern.
She mused the question over for a moment; hands folded back in her lap, then glanced down at the computer case next to her foot and gave it a good swift kick. It resounded with a bell-like clang.
"Yes."
He nodded once and went back to work.
Just a normal day at the office.
