Planning on getting a 8 day Britrail Flexi Pass, good just for England, not Scotland or Wales. Not seeing how I'm going to have time to visit either of those countries, and I'd want to spend copious amounts of time in both.
It's no good for London, so getting an Oyster pass for then. Debating booking a B&B somewhere around the V&E or British Museum for the last few nights, so I can see those. (is it sad I'm excited about the museums?)
Those who have been there before, suggestions are welcome.
I've essentially got 5 days on the rail pass to see places other than London on my own, 4 if you count the train ride to Heathrow.
Bath is about the only firm thing there for wandering outside of London. Avebury sounds interesting (much more than Stonehenge), would like to sketch either Sutton Hoo or the Staffordshire Hoard. And I'd love to see at least one of the chalk figures, preferably the Rude Man of Cerne Abbas.
Elinor has informed me that I must have a drink at the Crooked House.
Budget (accounting for current exchange rate) is £750-£1000, depending how much I can save between now and then. When travelling stateside, I usually budget around $100 per day, which'd be about £61, so hoping it'll be about right.
Um... yeah. So. That's what's going on. ^^;;
[Edit] Okay! Britrail and Oystercard got, just have to figure out where we're staying while in London!!! o_o
