Amusing thing on the way to con: A smoothie/boba shop named 'Fruit Basket'. ^^

Okay, sorry. AnimeExpo

Lots of fun. Kinda glad I only went for a day and a half tho. Still suprised at the size of my hotel room, was bigger than my house (granted, my house isn't big but still...) the view of the Angels Stadium and a strawberry feild was very cool. But there were just way too many people. @_@ Am highly amused by the fact that it's an anime con and we the first thing we buy is weaponry.

Did meet Tdei!!! ((GLOMPAGE!)) She's very very cool. Tdei is also an amazingly cool artist. I'm extremely jealous. She drew me a Hakuba Picture!!! *still in shock*

Don't you just wanna tug on his pants a bit?

The original is currently put on a safe place on the fridge, until we can get a frame. ^^;;

Did not find any information on Detective Conan. Didn't find much for it this Expo, period. Last year I at least found a toy and started my HK DVD collection of episodes. ^^;; Tokyopop said "No Comment", Viz said that they weren't announcing anything at Expo, and got "Bwah?" "What?" and "Uh... no." from Pioneer, ADV and Bandai.

Come back to find that it was bought by Funimation. ~_~;;

Cos-play, so very very bummed and relieved at the same time that we did not finish NoFace. Felt very strange not to be in costume. On the other hand, was very hot and unlike Long Beach, there is no off-shore breeze to cool the area down in Anaheim.

Did have a bit of fun being a Zombie today, got to play with some Hellsing cos-players who shot me repeated times and Integral kept poking me with her riding crop. Was highly amused.

Was highly amused to over hear a fanboy comment to a friend "Wow! It's a Kenshin cos-player. And it's a GUY!"

Glomped as many Naruto and One Piece characters as I could find on Friday. (there was a REALLY good Kakashi running around Friday) Today there were photo gatherings for cos-players for both series, but since I was covered in eye-shadow to be a zombie, didn't want to get them messy. There was a 'Haunted Junction' group as well, much to my delight.
For the Innocent Maiden ML, did Glomp a very confused Gaav cos-player who ran away after explaining why I was glomping him and the whole boxer thing... Heh.

We did glomp the Happosai wandering around wearing a bra and with underwear sticking out of his pack. ^____^

The Goth TK with Tokomon wandering around with a regular TK was priceless.

And Megaman picking his butt was one of those o_O things. ^^;;

Okay... just one of those FYI things for guys... If you are cos-playing as one of those Full Moon -too cute whatever characters with the animal ear hats and the character's costume shows off your belly... you really might wanna consider shaving there.
Seeing something that resembles the furry belly of a dog on an otherwise really nice costume is just one of those O_o;; things. Even if it is a nicely muscled belly.

Likewise, for the ladies, if your costume consists of a small little leotard with no tights and you decide to do high kicks at the photographer, butt-crack hair is not your friend.

Also have to wonder about AX seemingly always next-door to Christian Conventions.
However, there is just something highly ironic about being jumped by a guy to be preached at about Christian Fellowship right next to an Angel Sanctuary Gathering. ((GLOMPS Sephyuriel_sama!))

Anime Music Videos was fun, even if they got the seating mixed up and delayed everything for an hour. The set up was excellent, 4 screens in the auditorium, instead of just one central one. Wasn't a bad seat in the house. ^__^

Was fun to be able to sit back and watch the AMVs for entertainment value instead of breaking down the flaws and strengths of the videos for a change. They're fun!

The ones I would recommend would be (all out of the Comedy Category, BTW)
'Vanilla Vash' - Trigun video to a hip-hop version of 'Vanilla Ice, very well done
'Leaves of Happaness' - that is the correct spelling by the way. It's to the 'Yatta' song by the Greenleaves, with subtitles so you can sing along. Very wrong and scary and scary and wrong and just leaves you in stitches. "Q, Q, Q, Q! Bust! Bust! Bust! Bust!"
and 'Chibi Things that Kill' to 'The Little Things that Kill'. If this one doesn't win massive awards, I'm gonna be shocked.
3 words.
Kenshin. Versus. Jigglypuff.

For drama, also liked 'Center of the Sun' (Metropolis AMV) and the new Brad DeMoss one, *blanks on the name, something about Diamonds* Ah! My Goddess! Movie to a Moulin Rouge song. Actually want to go see the movie now.

Asuka singing to Shinji that he "Ain't nothing but a hound dog, cryin' all the time" was pretty cute as well.

Favourite overheard comment as everything -finally- started to run:
"Enough with the foreplay! Let's see some action!"
Guess we know their favourite AMV category...

Other odd line at the contest for the mental pictures alone: "Suck it up, Game Boy!"

Odd scenes from Con:

Miroku from Inuyasha purposes to a very confused Suuichi from Gravitation.

Nami shows who's boss.

Celebrating the Forth of July.

Random Signage.

Stormtroopers and Rockers.

And a big ((GLOMPS!)) to Mike who reads this but doesn't say anything. *laughs*

*sighs* Yup.
Never was able to get close to the Funi booth, something I'm now regretting. It was always crowded with DBZ fanboys. ~_~

After their *twitch* dubbing of Fruits Basket, I'm kinda worried. (Strongly hoping that they give Conan a CHILD sounding voice)
But then there's always subtitles. ^___^
Very glad that they're keeping the orginal names. ^^;;

::GLOMP:: ^^ After seeing your entry real fast before passing out when I got home yesterday, I dropped by the Funimation booth with my bro to check (sneaked him in today~ ::g::). The guy said they have the license to ALL episodes 1-325 and ALL SEVEN movies. ^^;; We were like: O_o;; Holy shit. XD ...I hope they do a decent job. ;P

Wahhh, as to the AMV, they announced the winners (with plenty of technical difficulties and replays) at the Masquerade around... midnight? Uh, I don't remember the exact category for each, but the winners were: Euphoria (Best Show), Metronome (Action), Don't Stop the Rock (Is that the title? that sentence was used a lot... ^^;; I don't know the category. XD), Chibi Things That Kill (humor), and Center of the Sun (drama). ...I have this feeling I forgot one. ^^;; Did I? --; The Yatta one you and Tonia spoke of did not win anything. I think there were 2 special mentions, but I only remember one: Without GTO (that was... weird. --;)

I thought all of the winning AMVs were gorgeous. *^^* Wai wai wai! They were VERY moving. They inspire that touch of sensitivity to that stream of thought that beats under people's concealed hearts of imagination; they make you-- remind you to-- feel alive. :D

Basically I was dying to write after watching them. XD Though seeing the mentions (which weren't as good) and then the cosplay awarding kinda washed that mood out before I got to a computer. :O Darnit. I never am close to a computer when I'm inspired. ::thuds head:: BUT! I'm sure "Center of the Sun" will be my theme music for that Gai/Kakashi fic. XD ::g!!:: (ergo I'll be listening to it the entire time I'm writing that damn thing, maybe? XD)

I'm really happy you liked the picture. ::glomp!!:: (And you seriously are framing that thing? o_o; Geehh~ but it's... not good enough to be framed~~ XD) And I see you got your sketches up... ::chortle:: Yay! ^^b That Miroku propositioning Shuichi incident is just too amusing. ::grin:: You are SUCH major coolness. ::squee!:: *^^* ::DEATHGLOMP!:: And you put up with my MAJOR klutz attacks yesterday. XD Wow, I was dropping EVERYTHING. ^^;; ::hides in shame:: Thanks for helping me with all my stuff~~ ^^;;; ::huggle~:: I'm very glad I got to see you at AX. ^^v
