Dear Lady with the Wiccan Tattoo, despite your venomous shout of "The Bodies are Asian! The Ghosts Don't Like This!" before you stormed out of the building, there has been no sign of paranormal activity at the exhibit, even among the staff.
However, the Titanic exhibit, should we get it, is rumoured to be haunted.

At the time, the first impression I got was that her ghosts didn't like it.

Unfortunately, we had a packed lobby at the time and I had my hands full with other things and couldn't really question her on it.

... The only reaction she got was a murmured twitter. Everyone pretty much ignored her, the same with the protesters (who leave promptly at Noon every day!) outside who say we're 'Desecrating the Dead'.

Is this the Body Worlds style exhibit? There has long been rumors that it uses the bodies of executed Chinese prisoners. Apparently at one point, one of these exhibits returned some bodies to China as they lacked documentation to prove they were not executed prisoners and that sparked the rumors. That is probably what she was working from.

The really funny thing? None of my other co-workers paid any attention to the shouting lady. None.

One of the docents believe that I get all the weird ones because I have a personality. Am beginning to believe it's actually because I pay attention to my surroundings.

I know that some Asian cultures believe* that the soul of a body is damaged if the body is damaged in some way. Howsomever, weren't the bodies in these exhibits donated? That sort of implies the owners didn't mind.


*Or used to believe. Not sure how wide-spread it is now.

They're all unclaimed bodies, whose families didn't claim them for burial.

Honestly? I'm not extremely sensitive when it comes to dead humans, but I'm not picking up any lingering traces. The owners are long gone.

I'd heard about the damaged body = damaged soul before too and wondered about it as well.

Hmmm. I suppose I can see her point. Sorta. But it sounds to me like she's over-reacting a tad. Too, I'd hope that the people who put on the exhibit would release any remains that *do* get claimed. An admittedly unlikely event. (Smacks Heiji. Am NOT writing about his trip to the exhibit. NO. Especially since I haven't seen it.)

The damaged body/soul thing is something I only know bits and pieces about. It was important once, may be important still, but wasn't part of my upbringing so I can't say how strong it is in my family's beliefs.

We've had our first heat wave and sales have dropped a LOT, so the original assessment of the exhibit being extended and then followed by Titanic is in serious question right now.
Even if the exhibit is closed after the initial 8 weeks, am still really hoping for the Titanic one, which sounds like it is awesome. ^_^
