Kept me up past 11 with strange and random ideas. Thank goodness I wrote at least some of them down!
-will work on them when we're not so groggy tho. @_@

Heiji: I think I see the Kid perched on a light up there... It looks like he's eating popcorn and cheering.
Saguru: Ignore him.
Heiji: But... *motions to chase the Kid*
Saguru: If I look, I'm going to have to chase him, which'll distrupt the game. He's probably here to cheer on the Task Force's baseball team anyway.
Heiji: That is one strange thief.
Saguru: Tell me about it.

Looks like snippets file is back open... ^_^

"You." Hakuba shot Kaito a particularly foul glare. "Are more confusing than a damn female."

And with that lovely parting sentiment, he turned on his heel and stalked out of the room.

Kaito blinked.

He paused, looking where the detective had stalked off and blinked again, scratching his head in confusion.

"I think I was just insulted." He mused out loud. "...was I? Hey Aoko, Was that a complement or an insult?"

He turned to look at his best friend, who was doubled over holding her stomach in muffled laughter. "Aoko, help me out here! Aoko? What's so funny? Aoko?"

Weasles-- errr, I mean 'bunnies'........

Heh heh; just *loved* the baseball one-- it's so in-character. I'll bet he'd be doing his best to lob the occasional popcorn-kernel down Aoko's front if she was there as well..... And as for insult/compliment, the answer would be: Both! **snicker, snicker**

Plot-bunnies (and weasles) are all good; got attacked by 'em this morning myself and wrote the opening scene for WF13 in a fashion utterly different than what I had planned, which once more makes me look at the initials WF and go 'Whatthefuck?' in my head, because it seems appropriate just now (pardon the language). **sigh** This thing just mutates and mutates and mutates... How the hell did I end up with a Russian side-character?? and WHERE did all those haiku come from, for crying out loud? Will show you later this evening if you want, Icka... **rolls eyes**

Hmmmm... anybody know of a site with a correct, reliable pattern for making a kimono on it? Have been looking high, low and sideways for one-- and the Simplicity pattern being sold at fabric stores is only wearable if you're a size 5 and roughly 19" across from hipbone to hipbone, apparently. Uh huh..... not THIS female; I'm real. Look, hips! Chest! NOT a Barbie-- not that even *Barbie* could fit into one of these with any grace, mind you. I am totally prepared to flatten myself to fit into a kimono correctly, but there are some things that just won't flatten, you know?

Many thanks! I've looked at the first site ad infinitum, and it's useful... but though it tells a great deal about wearing a kimono properly and the history and fabric types, it doesn't truthfully tell you how to MAKE one like I need; I'm looking for a direct pattern. Gonna have to buy one online and draft a pattern myself, I think; I have a haori, but it's not much use to me in this respect. As for the second site, that one's new to me and looks *very* useful-- many thanks for that one as well!

Try Amazon Dry Goods. They have a really good Kimono pattern. Not sure of the site, though, sorry.

For PYP, or Trick Trilogy or something

Heiji: Ok, Kaito you can play with us.
Conan: But no poker this time!
Kaito: So what are we going to play?
*all three detectives give him an amused, surprised look*
Conan: Clue! What else?

I'm still sticking by my mental image of the 2 of them rolling around on the carpet. ^___^
Think they'd break the celing fan. Then they'd hafta explain it to the rest of the Task Force, and that'd just be amusing.

The Great Kimono Hunt

Just thought I'd add this on (and am having to go through here, since for reasons unknown LJ is apparently having a number of Senior Moments today and won't let me reach the login page).

Holy BATSHIT, fatman..... I ran across this site while hunting around: http://www.ichiroya.com

Take a look-- they sell, errr, can't recall what they're called, but they're rough-stitched kimonos (some new, some old) and bolts of the fabric at the weirdest range of prices, from great to astronomical. Jeeeeze..... am slavering all over the place here; the fabrics are so beautiful... **sniff** And I borrowed a couple of books last night re: makiing a kimono, furisode, haori or whatever my idiot heart is willing my tired fingers to sew; they have them all. So NOW I want the fabric. Or one of those half-sewn thingies-- kimonos and haoris that have been cut out and sort of nibbled together but not finished. Woooooo..... This is a Good Site.
