And I've been laughing, saying that we need to garb him like Cacofonix, the Bard. Or maybe like some of the other Asterix characters.

Then on the way home from Fighter Practise tonight, it dawns on me.

I'm a (not-fat!) LARGE busty red-head.

I NEED TO MAKE AN OBELIX VIKING DRESS!!!! Y/N?

[Edit: it would so totally give me an excuse to carry a boar around. XD]

Woot! *laughs*
In retrospect, really really really needed to draw the bust MUCH bigger, but I did the pic in like 10 minutes (sitting on the toilet) while laughing.

Oh, well. ^^;;

Not even sure if stripes would be period...

Yes, stripes like that are period. Not sure if this style of stripe on this style of Viking is, but stripes like that are. You might quiz Ianuk as I'm sure she has the details somewhere (head or library).

Depends on the culture, I guess. Romans certainly could have, but isn't Obelix a Gaul?

I have a friend here in NZ raising real european boar. Should you return at some point, we could probably arrange entire boar, just for you.

Sweet! Thank you! Because I think I know where to get the striped fabric, but I haven't a clue on the viking dress pattern. Except that the flap pattern that Ianuk uses drapes pretty and looks comfy.

I have 3 different hangerock patterns -- the 'A' one I like for me, the tube-&-cone one that is common here, and the flap/crossover one. I also have a good tunic diagram/method that is good for any body-shape for the underdress/tunic.

I love that illo, and I think you will look fabulous in it.
