-So before legal action can be taken against my former employer, I must file under the Whistleblower act with the State. Only no one knows who to file with. Heard it was OSHA, OSHA says 'no', check Attorney General's Office and still trying to figure out if it's the Industrial Commission, but they seem to be focused on 'Hazardous Work Environments'.

So basically, nada. I am protected by the law, only no one knows how.
And to make things ultra special, one of the other employees was fired for not pulling Y off of the client, and my supervisor has been suspended/fired as well.

Also attempted a date, which I already ranted about on FB. Pretty sure the volcano in the Philippines is my fault, because I don't usually date. 2 boyfriends my entire life.
... Aaaaaaand we're gonna keep it that way for a while longer. At least now I know warning signs for a bad date. ~_~

Other than those two annoyances, it's actually been a fairly good week. Went to a Hanukkah party, learned to play dreidel (and win!), did some babysitting, and currently housesitting for a couple of labs and a spaniel until the New Years. Yay. ^_______^

Okay, did a bit of poking around; according to this link (http://employment.findlaw.com/employment/employment-employee-more-topics/employment-employee-health-safety-top/osha-whistleblower-protection.html) (a little further into the same site) you *are* supposed to report to OSHA. Whoever you spoke to doesn't know what they're talking about. Thing is, you need an Employee's Rights lawyer-- there's a link that says 'Find Help Now' over to the right that might be useful there.

.... motherf*ckers. It was a damn SUPERVISOR that called me back to inform me that they couldn't do anything because it wasn't their department.

In that case, I'd quote 'em the website link and wait on the phone until they pulled it up. Yes, they generally deal with health/safety hazards; but that's not all they do. I'd try to get in contact with the other fired employees, too, because y'all have a nice little lawsuite building there... and if you don't do something, the business will keep on with unsafe practices and the clients will suffer. You know when that usually stops happening? *I* do, I work with it every day-- it's when somebody dies.

Sadly, I'm not particularly familiar with states that aren't Texas (at least, legally what the procedures are) but perhaps this site can help as well?

OSHA would be my first guess as well, tbh. You may need to harangue them In Real Life before you get the right response.

Good luck, Icka. This is a sticky situation all around. The good thing is that you're protected. I'd memorize that article, section, and subsection fast if I were you.
