Help help, I'm trapped in Suburbia!!!
Sep. 24th, 2009 06:56 pmSo late last night I'm heading back from Tucson to Sahuarita and I get lost. No problem, I was travelling the route I first came down here by, which was a roundabout way. Backtrack through the pecan groves, found the neighbourhood.
This is one of those '10 miles x 5 miles' of identical track housing areas. There's something like 4 housing patterns, some flipped, all in shades of dirt brown. And no street lights.
And the googlemap that the iphone has loaded is sending me down the wrong streets. Finally give up on the googlemap and go on my gut. Gut says it's within this one block area, only I've completely forgotten what the house number is.
-Have I mentioned that the housing is all identical?
So I strike a plan. The iphone has their wifi in it already and I can listen for the dogs. If I walk around, pick up the wifi or hear the dogs, I can narrow down which house it is. Ha-hah. All is not lost!
-So I park the car, activate the iphone wifi and step out into the street.
Instantly, the wifi picks up the correct signal and I hear the dogs.
... Had managed to park directly across the street from the house.
