Saw some movies!

First off, GI Joe.
As much as I love my giant robots, this was so much better. Good pacing, the effects were decent, the weaponry design was FUN and I got my quota of explosions. Purrrr, explosions. No major plot holes you could drive a large mecha through either, it flowed very nicely.

Odd Musings:
-Y'know, I wanted to like the Baroness. The whole 'Bad Girl' thing. Only she wasn't -exactly- a bad girl and it kinda disappointed me. She's so much fun (and evil and snarky!) in the comic books.
-Kept expecting an altercation between SnakeEyes and Ripcord for Ripcord... um... Stealing his girlfriend. Some macho posturing. Something.
-DOCTOR NINE IS A WEAPONS DEALER!!! sorry, I know he's not, but the thought kept popping up and amusing me
-Is it just me, or is his face wider after he becomes Destro?
-Um. Okay, like the plot twist for Cobra Commander, but OMG, HIS MASK IS SOOOOOO STUPID. "Ph34r M3, I look like I mated with a frog!". Yeah. Not striking fear into the hearts of men here.... -_-
-Are they gonna rebuild the Eiffel Tower? They've got a good portion of it still intact, it just happens to be the top half. Bigger, Better, Stronger, Etc, than the original?

Also saw Bolt. Um... Really don't have much to say on that. Classic Disney fare, light hearted and all that. Rhino, the hamster, is a hoot. Okay movie, if a tad predictable.

Is GI Joe actually a good movie? It looks sooo cheesy and just... well, bad.

I thought G.I. Joe was a hoot and every bit as comic book as it needed to be.

I wanted the Baroness to be more Baroness, but eh. Had a ton of fun playing spot the cameo actor. Cobra Commander's mask. dude.... Just effed up. I vote they go back to the traditional curtain drape or silver face shield, cause that thing he's in now looks like they had a heater accident with one of the "IJ & the Crystal Skull" props and said "hey! this'll do".

Stan Winston's work on the body armor totally gives me hope for a live action Appleseed or Bubble Gum Crisis that'll be worth anything.

Hey, you still coming over Saturday evening?

Yup, still planning on coming over on Saterday. ^__^

One of the things that does have me bouncing about the movie is a piece of triva from IMDB: (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1046173/trivia)

Stephen Sommers took great care over the technology depicted in the film, going through various books/magazines about weapons technology. He feels that almost 100% of the technology can be developed within 10-20 years.

Which is just like... whoa. ^________^

Yay!

See you at 5:30?

Tech: Some of it already has to some extent.
By the time a weapon makes a show like "Future Weapons" or "Beyond Tomorrow" it has been in production and use for several years. Example: the Japanese use the Audio stop that cannon which can blast sound at a person or persons that can do everything from just annoy to kill depending on the setting. It was featured on an episode of Mythbusters if I'm not mistaken.

Didn't you love Christopher Eccleston? He was the reason I went to go see the movie :D but the explosions were nice, too.
