Which is a very sad but humorous and apt discription. ^___^;

On the plus side, got to meet a several-generational genuine old-time cowboy. Neat guy.
Made an interesting comment about having been raised by the old-timers to treat everyone, be they yellow, orange, purple, whatever, with respect to who they are on the inside.

Yep, me too. On my Mom's side I'm related to most of the founding families of Tombstone. Every single one of the "old school" cowboys I've met hasn't cared about color as much as actions.
