Not quite Meitantei Conan...
Apr. 17th, 2009 01:51 pmSo yesterday, we went to get supplies for work at the local Wally- world. Went to turn the corner into the driveway when the large white truck ahead of us suddenly hops the kerb, speeds through/past two trees and comes to a stop against the cinderblock wall.
My supervisor, J, and and I parked our car, and got out, J calling 911 and I checked on the driver. She wasn't bleeding, but she was crying and couldn't seem to stop. She was like on automatic, trying to reach her husband, but her phone wasn't working. I called her husband, but he wasn't home. That was probably the strangest message I've ever left, informing someone that their wife was in a crash, but appeared to be okay.
The fire department showed up a few minutes later and took over. J an I waited for the police to show up to give our statement, which took a while. But the tire tracks were right there, and the officer said it was obvious, so he just took our information and we were on our way.
Think her phone rang and she reached for it, causing her to veer off the road, where she paniced, hit the acclerator and crashed.
Interesting twist to the day.
We're in Dallas right now, staying across from Six Flags again. Here until the end of next week, and then it looks like up to Denver \o/
