ickaimpSomeone recently jokingly asked me now that I've finished Astro Boy, what series was next.
Well, here ya go.
Finished reading the Slayers novels today. Two things stick out in my mind in the later four novels.
1: Amelia and Zel refer to themselves as a unit, 'Mr. Zelgadiss and I', 'Amelia and I', etc etc. They even act as a unit. Also, Amelia is snarky.
2: Xelloss' evil machinations to get Lina to the Claire Bible. I fangirl, even though I know he shouldn't.
Currently slowly watching 'Hakaba Kitaro', because I've been curious about 'Gegege no Kitaro' for ages because it's a Supernatural series that is hard to find translated. And Kitaro's father is a walking eyeball. It's hard to top that.
Hakaba (and yes, I'm having trouble with it being so close to 'Hakuba') is a darker version of Gegege no Kitaro. Feels very much like Kosetsu Hyaku Monogatari or 50's style cartoons, in the art and style. With some morbid comedy thrown in.
Speaking of Gegege no Kitaro, for the Detective Conan fans, the 2007 anime version of Kitaro is voiced by Takayama Minami, with one of the other main characters, Nezumi-Otoko, voiced by Takagi Wataru.
-Minami also did a voice in the second episode of the 2003 Astro Boy series, she voices a boy named 'Shin'ichi' who teaches Atom how to play Rocket Ball. XD
Back on to Tezuka Osamu, read the first 50 chapters of 'Pluto' today. OMG. OMG. OMG. Been craving a nice psychological murder mystery and boy golly did this fit the bill. With robots. \o/ Am loving some of the twists and turns that this story takes, hoping that new chapters come out soon. The characters feel very human. Also, I adore this Tenma. A complete and utter genius, but more than a little messed up in the head.
