- just because you have kicked the fever's arse once, doesn't mean it won't come back with it's friends, the sweats and the chills.

-if the cold meds come back up, they are Not Working.

-addendum to above: various multi-coloured jelly beans will return as an even shade of brown.

-When talking to youngest sister, try to remember not to pick up her phrasing. However 'the cough syrup bottle is bright orange and has a smiling kid's face on it that you just want to bitch slap off the little punk' does work as a decent reminder of what stuff to get.

-Talk to my folks more often, Dad used to work in the medical field, he knows good stuff.

-When feeling like a petulant child for going to bed at 7:30, which we haven't done since elementary school, three very good friends from the other coast call.

-downplaying just how well are doing on lj sometimes leads to strange encounters over the phone:

"Hi!"
"Croak! Croakcroakcroak croak croakcroak!"
"Icka!?! Is that you?!"
".... croak."

-We have good friends. ^______________^

-Apologies to [livejournal.com profile] shade_scribbler and [livejournal.com profile] yu_gi_oh_freak for missing the party, was really looking forward to it and seeing everyone. Hope we can re--schedule and get together later. ^__^

And that's pretty much it from me. Will continue to be primarily offline, must fix me before we fix our laptop.

^^;; Yes and no? Just being hit kinda hard by the current flu/cold bug. Doesn't mean I'm less cheerful, just wiped out and having trouble talking. Cough drops are my friend. ^___^

-but that's why I tend to downplay when I'm feeling bad, don't want other people to worry or draw them down. Better if everyone stays cheerful. ^_________^

Recommendations for a good cold medicine:

Drixoral or Sudafed 24-hour. Current OTC decongestants with phenylnephrine (PE) does not really work, and Claritin is the best antihistamine around, except it is not sedative.

--on the other hand, Zyrtec-D is also good, but is goddamn expensive.

Currently using a generic brand of Claritin, that is supposed to be slightly better, with Musanex to stop the mucus flow.
So far it seems to be working better than the Day-quil did. I don't think I'm gonna use that anymore.

Thank you for the information!

Typo. Claritin is *not* the best antihistamine...

I hope you feel better soon. If you can, try taking extremely small servings of white rice with about a thumbnail's worth of butter on top (or plain). It seemed to help one of my aunts when she came down with a similar stomach bug.

Sending healing thoughts,
Eve
