Okay! So elinor_dear, whom I'm housesitting for, is returning to Tucson this weekend, instead of later in the month as previously planned, so am frantically washing linens for her return. Yay for keeping house clean.

Boss-lady had jury duty yesterday, fortunately was labelled a mis-trail so we don't have to worry about Xan later this week.

Have fabric for a (blue!) sash for my Mongolian outfits, need to make said sash and pack for Estrella War. Haven't packed a thing. @_@ Keep thinking that I can sleep when I get to War.

... and why do I hear mocking laughter whenever I think that?

(-for the non-scadians, remember how much sleep you get while attending a Con. Now factor in that this is several thousand people. in tents. and the drinking/drumming/partying goes until 3am. IE: you don't go to war to sleep! XD)

Anyone who is going to be at War, I'll be camping with the Great Dark Horde. *Wiggles Happily* Also need to find the Corsairs. (totally have a theme there)

On the anime front, Obata Takeshi has released a new oneshot, 'Urooboe Uroboros!. Which is massive squeal for me, love snakes and am highly fond of Ouroboros, to the extent that a snake eating its own tail was my first tattoo. ^__^ The story's not bad either.
Am noticing a trend with Obata latest titles however. It's like after Sakon, Hikaru no Go and Death Note, it's like he's decided 'Screw it. I'm tired of drawing pretty boys all the time. Bring on the cute girls and the boobies!'. And hence we have Blue Dragon: Ral Ω Grado, Urooboe Uroboros and to some extent, Hello Baby.

*head desk* And now we've got 'I must! I must! I must Increase my Bust!' stuck as an earworm. Sooooo not funny. >P The bigger the better, the tighter the sweater...

Speaking of music, there's something terribly wrong and funny about reading the latest Oofuri manga chapter to Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2. Yay for random songs! XD

And a pox upon whomever placed that first request for the DC Anon Kink Meme. We have fic that has just reached 8501 words, we still have three scenes to go and Saguru just got tongue-tied. >P Was hoping to have it done by War, but it may not be. *grumbles* This is totally not gonna be Anon.

Uroborous! Yes, I liked that one too. No real surprises from it but the characters were fun and I loved the way Obata drew the fight scenes.

Yeah, was rather clichéd, but still a fun read. I think out of the latest works he's done, I'm hoping for that one to be continued the most, would love to see that one expanded on. *purrrs* Also love the various Ouroboros that were drawn as well.

The people at Boobgroppers seem to think that he kinda is a cross between L and Ral, but I think you're right, he's closer to L than Ral. Smart and lanky. ^___^

Think Byzantine may be a bit too early for SCA, think the current period is 600-1600bc.

Well, the last "Byzantine dynasty" ended with the Ottoman takeover in 1453...though it was never quite as dominant in the region after the sack of Constantinople during the Fourth Crusade. In particular, since Constantinople was just beyond the edges of the Mongol empire (but was very involved with international trade), there was a lot of exchange going on, especially with the Turks (meaning a Byzantine persona would be able to mix fairly easily with just about anyone within spitting distance from the 13th century without even worrying about period-compliance).
