Weekend Retort
Jan. 14th, 2008 11:42 amI swear I put 'retort' because it's my way of getting the final say back at the weekend.
-Friday-
Went to Cheesecrack at
lil_1337's house and got to meet
haraamis and Kara (their names rhyme), who are currently travelling cross country. Both are sweeties, was nice to have met them.
-Saterday-

-seen on the way to
lil_1337's house again. ^______________^ Made my day.\o/
Spent a good deal of Saterday on my hands and knees. And Sean stole my Mongol pants. ... We're making garb for Estrella. Evidently I'm the only one in the group who knows how to cut and pin a t-tunic. -_- Well, Ysabet might, but she decided to stay home.
THANK YOU
nos911 AND
uaekiwi AND SOUTHRON GAARD.
-Sunday-
Pimping China and Crystal at yet another Bridal Show! Sooooooo not recovered from last week's all weekend bridal show as my knee decided to inform me. Thank the fates that the place was carpeted.
Also, I got a job offer. @_@ Working as a Nanny through an agency. Do you know how much agency nannies make?! @_@ <--again. Wondering if I shouldn't look into nanny as a career a bit more. Could fund my travel addiction. ^^;;
And then went back to
lil_1337's house to work on garb.
Okay. Life lesson here. Do NOT cut and pin garb after less than 5 hours of sleep and a full day of work. Instead of a pair of red mongolian pants, we now have a giant red wind sock.
-John held on to it for blackmail purposes. ^^;;
Was hoping to finish and post the third chapter of The Grey Agency today, but I don't think that's happening. Hopefully tomorrow.
And now, if you'll excuse me, Xan is attempting to chew on my power cord. Again. >_o

Date: 2008-01-14 07:48 pm (UTC)Re: Retort. I've always wondered if there was any specific reason why you always wrote Saturday as Saterday. *curious*
From your reaction agency nannies have a good deal. XD

Date: 2008-01-14 08:00 pm (UTC)It's actually kinda silly... There's two stories I've heard for how the word 'Saturday' came around.
One is 'Saturn-day', named after Saturn, or Kronos.
The other is that it is 'Sater-day', from Seder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seder).
... I can't seem to remember 'Saturn', but I can remember 'Seder', since Saturday is the Jewish day of Worship. Hence, Saterday. *shrugs* Feels better to me.
from what I was quoted, agency nannies start at $9 an hour, and $15 an hour for working weddings. I repeat: @_@

Date: 2008-01-14 11:41 pm (UTC)Gurgly and tired. I tried to go back to sleep after dropping off P3 but no dice. She's got it too so I'm thinking this is a bug.

Date: 2008-01-15 09:25 pm (UTC)I would have done it if I could...ya'know, stand kids. I get frustrated easily when they don't listen.
BTW: Mum got paid 10$ an hour (or there abouts, I know it was quite a bit of money at the end of the week). If you're good enough, you can practically set your own prices, really. Or specialty was children no one else would take, real problem children. We turned them into slightly devilish angels. *grins*
