Dreamt this morning that Bakura, instead of being a classmate, was Jounouchi, Yuugi, Anzu and Honda's High School Teacher during Duellist Kingdom.
-He was thinking about becoming a Lawyer, because grading all of those assignment papers would to drive anyone crazy enough to give them a psychotic homicidal alter-ego. >_>
Ye-ah. Go on. Say it. You know you want to.
Anyway, I'm up to Phoenix this weekend for my other part-time job, selling china. Wish me luck! \o/

Date: 2008-01-06 08:57 am (UTC)Anyway, I was looking at 'Red Tear' again, and with the fact that Fake!Kid had a gun and shot at the police (which was how they discovered it wasn't in fact Kid), it made me curious, standard police procedure (at least in the states), is to shoot when a gun is present.
Now they typically don't do this in MK as Kid's gun is non-lethal, but now with the introduction of the BO/Snake's group using lethal weapons...would they follow procedure? I mean, Nakamori and the older Task Force members probably wouldn't, but what about a rookie?

Date: 2008-01-10 08:36 am (UTC)I believe that not all police officers have guns, I think one must be of a certain rank. It could simply be that aside from Nakamori, no one in the Task Force is of a high enough rank to carry a firearm.
For example, the Japanese Riot Police are known for -not- carrying weapons and solving conflicts through non-lethal force.
Keep going back to Vol 2 ch 4, 'Adults Don't Understand' and everyone's reaction to when Nakamori pulls out the gun, shouting shoot to kill.
-it's the same reaction Nakamori has to the Fake Kid pulling out a gun. ^^;;
Would have to double check Japanese gun control and police to be sure.

Date: 2008-01-11 01:55 am (UTC)Arg, need to start remembering just because I know a procedure pretty well, that I know it for the STATES and not the rest of the world. I usualy remember the Police does not equal guns bit for Japan but for some reason that slipped my mind.
Though that opens a new question now, would they put a rookie on the Task Force? I know we abuse it to hell when we want canon fodder, but the Task Force seems to be made up of Detectives/Inspectors, and some rotating uniforms for heists, would they want more experienced cops, better able to handle Kid (and the crowd), or would it be a way to 'earn your wings', to get slotted on a usually non-lethal criminal, sort of a 'cut your teeth' deal before heading out to bigger crime.

3. I got the first volume of Eroica, and now I need more and they'd run out in the dealer's room. THIS IS YOUR FAULT.
Nice

Date: 2008-01-07 03:26 am (UTC)Bakura as a lawyer is very concerning. I think, perhaps, that he'd go... mental? Kekekeke...
Too many jokes can be made about this.
You should fic it. ;P
