Okay, so back on our last trip to Japan in April 2004, we caught an episode of Transformers on the Japanese telly.

*scratches head* It was called 'Super Link', the Transformers *cough* combined with each other, there was a human running around calling one Transformer 'Lord Master' and 'Lord Master' was calling the kid 'Aibou'.

... 'Neechan and I looked at each other, giggled, and wondered if our Slash Goggles were working overtime.

Then there was the Transformer who was digging a hole, digging a hole, digging a hole, find something and throw it over his shoulder, digging a hole, digging a hole, digging a hole... While two other Transformers watched him and commented back and forth. Then you get the then of the episode, he's still digging that hole, he finds a bomb, tosses it over his shoulder, only it comes back down and explodes on him. *facepalm*

So a while back, I found the dub version of it, Energon, and bookmarked it for a rainy day. It was raining today, we had sewing to do, so we watched a few episodes, cause mecha and explosions, yay!

Episode One: "It's Optimus and his Boys!"

Episode two, there's two Transformers who show up, give the fighting Autobots fashion accessories power-ups, lisp, tell them to have fun beating each other up, they're going back downstairs together.

Episode Three: "And I hope you'll be co-operative. Because you don't have a choice in the matter!"

-that's right up there with YGO: The Abridged series: "I'll kill you, and then you'll be dead. Because I killed you." ~_~ *head desk* *head desk* *head desk*

Found I really don't like Optimus. They have a Decepticon who guards their door and they send out on grunt work. Rumours of Megatron return reaches them, the Autobots call the Decepticon a traitor to his face, Optimus publicly doubts him behind his back, then Megatron returns, pulls some mind games when he doesn't want to fight, then hauls him off and Optimus comments that he was trying to show him a more peaceful way of life, but you just can't trust a Decepticon.
... arsehole.

The whole thing with Kicker, the human kid who hangs out with them, annoys me too. His Father takes him to another planet, where the heart of it says 'Oh, you'll be useful', gives him the ability to sense energy and the Dad then drags him around space as a tool, then wonders why Kicker doesn't like him. *facepalm*

Did find a few episodes of it subbed. Thought some of the dub verses sub changes were interesting.

*Autobots left Kicker some tunnels in the dark, turn on the lights once he finds Energon, shove him out of the way and start digging*
*Kicker walks over and kicks his 'Partners' grill*

Dub: Ironhide: Aw, c'mon... don't be like that buddy...

Sub: RoadBlaster: If you keep doing that, one of these days I'm going to kick you back.

-same character, different names. I like the latter one better, makes the shaking fists make more sense. ('RoadBlaster' turned out to be the one we thought was 'Lord Master')

Anyway, finished my sewing, but didn't find the episode I saw in Japan, so I still don't know why that guy was digging a hole. Kinda bummed, but my brain is currently goo from the plotholes and the general lack of logic in the dub. Ah, well.

Yay explosions! \o/

Meh, I haven't been particularly interested in TF Anime. G1 was fun if you're willing to wade through vast mountains of drek to get to the gold, Beast Wars rocked the HOUSE, and Beast Machines... inhaled vigorously, through no fault of Bob and Marty's. Seriously, if you want good TF, watch Beast Wars. *Hugs Optimus Primal.*

Primal: Megatron! I'd say it was good to see you, but my truth circuits would overload.

I used to be completely addicted to Beast Wars. XD Oh, that was such a good show. M'not much into romance, but I loved watching Blackarachnia and Silverbolt flirt with each other. XD

Blackarachnia: What are you looking at?
Silverbolt: That star. It's a planet really. It's Venus. It reminds me of you.
Blackarachnia: Dark, hot, deadly, and poisonous? You're sweet.

That and it's Mainframe Entertainment!! er, was. Whatever. Reboot!

Beast Machines... I tried. And... no. Still have a BM Blackarachnia toy next to the computers as a charm against viruses though. XD

I remember walking past Scott McNeil and freaking out when he randomly did DinoBots hiss/growl. #^^# He does it so well.

Oh God, Scott. *hearts in eyes* The man recorded an argument between Dinobot and Rattrap in REAL TIME once. Switching voices as he went.

It's a running joke with that group of voice people that Scott is ALWAYS trying to get new voices to do. :)

Btw, Marty Isenberg, who was one of the two main writers for Beast Machines also was one of the main writers for "The Ultimate Enemy," and main writer for "Control Freaks" and "Masters of All Time," some of THE best eps of Danny Phantom, IMO. He and Bob Skir also worked on Action Man and Godzilla: The Series, both well-written, deep shows that got screwed over by Fox. Beast Machines just screwed them over badly enough the show itself sucked.
