I have discovered how to make the kitten purr at me. Give him some attention and something to kill. Preferably both at the same time. Ysabet says this is true with most males... I thought it was beer and something naked...

... and the kitten just brought me over a sock. It's a christmas sock with stripes and bells on... o_0

My current cat was adopted, while a kitten, almost at random -- the one I was going to adopt from L refused to be herded into the carrier, so I ended up with another. Somehow, he still ended up as a raging uke -- he squeaks pathetically whenever he isn't given attention, though shiny things may work as a temporary distraction.
