Oct. 24th, 2007 12:36 pmFour days ago, the object of research was 'What happens to murderers after Conan catches them?', with a focus on sentencing. The majority of murders in DC is 'First Degree', people do it on purpose, while 'Second Degree' is usually considered accidental.
I could find answers on life sentence and parole, prison life and the death penalty/executions. The last one I found the most interesting, as it describes the execution rooms. It's not what you'd expect.
Then today, I glance up the news feeder and find an article about the Japanese Justice Minister wanting to find a more tranquil method of execution.
*face palm* the timing...
... I need to start on our Halloween spooky fics...

Date: 2007-10-25 03:05 pm (UTC)The method used is hanging (trap door). After the convict is tied to the noose, three officers are instructed to push three buttons simultaneously. Only one these buttons releases the door, but they don't know which one. This is done so that the officers won't carry on the guilt of having killed the convict.
I guess the article already mention most of this.

Date: 2007-10-27 12:13 am (UTC)When Robin and Tim thread, it looks like they're having an argument. Mask. Cape. Mask. Cape.
There are some clips on youtube from a live performance he did -- not only is he funny musically, but he seems a really nice chap!
