So we're in Tucson. It's hot. And currently, humid. Too hot and humid to wear a hat. So I pulled out my old black Chinese parasol and use that on the walk back and forth to our job. Which we've been doing for over a month.

When suddenly it dawns on me as I'm heading home today.

I'm a NANNY with a black BROLLY.

*head desk*

The worst part is that we wear our hair in a bun a lot lately too... Now all we need is the victorian clothing and the ability to fly home...

Such a lovely character. The world needs more wicked-minded old biddies. And hat pins.

Ooo. Do you know which book? I actually haven't -read- any Miss Marple (though I did catch a few episodes of the atrocity Poirot and Miss Marple with that sidekick girl).

She's the reason that airport security has to check little, old ladies!

I can't remember which book, but I do recommend Marple mysteries. Try A Murder Is Announced, it's one of the best.

I caught a few episodes of that, too! The characterization was ridiculous on Poirot's part. Miss Marple, I can see being all great-aunty. Poirot taking on a kid sidekick? No, Poirot taking on cases that he can shove off onto a kid sidekick? AHAHAHA no.

Yeah, he already has one dumb sidekick, two is too many. The series made my brain hurt. And the opening song... I loved it and hated it at the same time. Sometimes, you just have to wonder what the writers were smoking and/or drinking to write stuff like that.

Yay! for odd similarities to fictional characters! I know someone who looks and acts like she was related to Granny Weatherwax, I'm often compared to a hobbit (I'm not that short, I just don't like shoes, and really like mushrooms.) And I'm dating a magician who has a rather Kaitoish sense of humor. (I'm getting used to random explosions too.)
