So hung out with Ysabet, Sarah and Sean last night and watched some movies I hadn't seen before.

V for Vendetta -
Read the graphic novel last year, was kind of impressed on how they turned the graphic novel into a bit more of a comedy. Was disappointed they took out the line about a retirement home was three punks with a lead pipe, because that was the part that really drove stuff home for me.

Massive kudos to the actor who played V, not only for his enunciation, but for doing so well with the body language. ^^;; (most of my cosplay costumes cover the face or cloud body language. Try conveying something correctly sometime without the use of facial expressions, it's quite surprising.)

Ghost Rider -
.... I'm glad I saw it? Nothing really big on it, not good, not bad, although we were wondering why he'd get blue fire everytime he appeared to pop a boner for the girl. Burning something different?

Transformers -
Yay blowing sctuff up, the cgi was believable, the main girl totally would screw the car given half a chance (nice eyecandy), loved the sarcasm about 'This is America, land of the Free, they'd tell us if we were being invaded, right?' but I'm afraid one question really kinda ruined the movie for me:

How High Was the Death Count?

Funny thing, did you know the actor who voiced Megatron was the same one who did V. It was Hugo Weaving aka Agent Smith, Lord Elrond, and Rex the Sheepdog from Babe 1 and 2. How is that for a rezime?

I haven't read V for Vendetta but my brother showed it to me. I was blown away by it. I agree that the actor who played V did an incredible job. There was no moment that I did not believe him completely.

I pretty much agree with you on all counts on Transformers. I also wonder the same question. I suppose when it comes out on DVD, we'll have to figure out a loose body count. One base went down. How many people are usually on a military base? At least, they didn't dumb it down like the show did and make it look like no one really gets hurt or dies (I'm probably discounting some information, its been a while since I seen any of the shows... though, I do recall some not making it in Beast Wars).

V was a good movie, but I wasn’t quite as enamored of it as some. While the message was great, the whole 'main girl is in prison' portion felt like a poorly done dream sequence- kind of a cop out with character development, and an excuse to just shove a bunch of stuff at you all at once. It started to feel more like preaching than a convincing argument, which was disappointing. But maybe that’s just me being overcritical. It happens.

Hugo Weaving was absolutely incredible, though. I must’ve listened to that first line (the one with all the v words) half a dozen times just to make sure I’d gotten it all.

Am going to see Transformers tonight, and now I’m even more excited. (Yay for explosions and sarcasm!)

DECEPTICONS DO NOT CARE ABOUT DEATH COUNTS. The squishies are for stepping on! :D I need the happy Decepticon logo icon here.

Although Optimus is probably guilting. Because Optimus does that kind of thing.

This suddenly reminds me of the lack-of-death-count in Power Rangers. How many times did Angel Grove get walked on?

I totally want to buy an old Camaro now. I'd even paint it yellow. I hate the color yellow. (Okay, not hate, but that school bus shade is low on the fave color list.)

And the next movie's due out in 2009. I can't wait. :DDD

Death Counts? That's why Angel Grove had an Abandoned Warehouse District! :)

And there are totally no homeless people on Earth until the friendly aliens show up in SPD! And even then, somehow they all manage to get away. Or are turned into dolls.

Oh, Danny Phantom. I love you because you have DEAD PEOPLE. Who were PEOPLE. And DEAD.

Five to one the gub'mint blamed it on terrorists. Or tied it in to the Cloverleaf trailer. Something. XD

TRANSFORMERSTRANSFORMERSTRANSFORMERS.

Amusing how every guy I know is totally obsessed with the movie and most the girls I know thought the movie was dumb. But whatever.

TRANSFORMERSTRANSFORMERSTRANSFORMERS.

Love all the cracks they made about the government too <3

V = Hugo Weaving, aka Elrond, aka the Bad Guy in the Matrix.

GR: Blue Flames are the hottest flame (unless there's a chemical agent being burned in the fire). So if he was showing off for the girl, it stands to reason he was "hot" with love for her, hence the blue flames.

Transformers: she did love the car didn't she :P
