Commented today to the floor supervisor that she might -really- wanna ask the rest of the Graphics Department how they feel about the new supervisor (see previous rant) because I have continued to get complaints (many times. DAILY) about him from all but 2 of the department. One of whom the new supervisor is living with, and the other who doesn't say much.

Her comment:
"Well, it's your own fault Jess. You didn't want the job."

I don't WANT to be supervisor. I abhor being responsible for anyone other than myself because we take responsablity too seriously. Assistant supervisor, sure. Been doing that for the past 2½ years. Enjoy it even. LIKE helping people. Can take of the duties without a problem, just don't want to be responsible for everyone.

Unfortunately, in this case, if mister 'the-beatings-will-continue-until-moral-improves'-t-shirt-wearing bastard' does get laid off, we'll most likely end up in charge because we've got the most experience currently. Just kinda afraid that it'll end up like the last time my old supervisor got laid off where we did his job without the title or pay raise.

The idea of actually HAVING the title is enough to make me wanna curl up in a little miserable imp-ball. Geh.
"Ah, yes. I'm the Supervisor of the Graphic Department for the Second Largest Three Dimensional Small Business Sign Manufacturer in the United States." ah, bite me.

*falls over* *Whine Whine*

Gonna go grocery shopping with youngest sister and then watch Bastard!! anime now.
Because if watching a Buff Nekkid Bish blowing shyte up with the explosions and the fighting and the ooze doesn't take your mind off of stuff, not much will. XD

Still sounds like you've got a pretty useless supervisor. What do they pay him to do anyway, since it sounds like the rest of the people in your department are doing all the work?

Totally understand the raise thing--it's the very reason why I do not want to become editor or whatever, even when I'm capable of doing it (though I was completely outvoted; unanimous 3 votes against my one. **sigh**). You're responsible for yourself is a Good Thing--that way, you won't have people getting on your case if someone else don't pull their weight.

Seems like you don't get much sympathy from your floor supervisor, either. Poor Icka. **offers lots of Pocky**

Hm; could be a case of the 'devil you know' versus the 'devil you don't', though; which would be worse, suffering the idiot you've got now or taking his place?

As for the title.... heh; wonder if you could change "the Supervisor of the Graphic Department for the Second Largest Three Dimensional Small Business Sign Manufacturer in the United States" to "Graphic Department Evil Overlord"? Personally, I'd feel MUCH better being an Evil Overlord than a Supervisor. Or maybe a Tyrannical Despot; those are good too. Or an Evil Vizir. Something like that.
