Right. Massive Road Trip O' Doom starts Tomorrow.
Bus leaves at 8pm, we'll be passing through Lordsburg, El Paso, Van Horn, Odessa, Abilene and Ft Worth before finally arriving at Dallas at about 6pm. @_@
First time taking the bus, ought to be fun.
Currently poking around downloading huge epic fanfics to read while travelling. Just grabbed all of the 'Stealing Harry' by
sam_storyteller and working on getting Cartographer's Craft' now. Ysabet gave us all of
domino_effect_ to read, so we've got Yu-Gi-Oh! AU as well. Have some of
malador_gw's Gundam stuff as well, but we're a fast reader and still poking at ficcage to read. Anyone have any other long fic suggestions?
*pokes at art!plunnies while we're at it, just to see if any pictures will fall out*
*yawns* Gods, this is a draining day. Slightly annoyed at currency exchange place. If the NZD/USD current exchange rate is $.73NZD to the US dollar, why are they buying at $.65 and selling for $.85? Argh.
Eh. Too much walking around in bloody hot weather.
*wants to read or write, but falls over instead*

Date: 2007-05-15 12:16 pm (UTC)The Legend of Zelda: The Return is....it's a perennial favorite of mine. 42 chapters and completed, this fic spans a retelling of the classic Ocarina of Time game. It's just breathtaking. A cast of new, original characters plus Link gets - *gasp* - a voice. It requires very, very little actual knowledge of the game itself; a cursory familiarity will get you by. I highly. highly recommend this one.
Also, enjoy that trip - West Texas is DULL. We should meet up if briefly if you're in Dallas for the weekend. Akon's not until a week or two, is it?

Date: 2007-05-15 03:04 pm (UTC)Dragoness Eclectic (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/7068/) has a surprisingly good DBZ divergence series. 'Mythic Descent' is the centerpiece, though I'm actually most fond of 'Raditz's Return.'
Kenya Starflight (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/170713/) has a bunch of neat - and long - Star Wars fics/AUs/crossovers.
Ms. Zeal (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/525342/) has a nice little ficseries each for RK and YYH.
Never Mind Me (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2170312/1/) is a cute CCS AU.
Door Number Two (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3315710/1/) is a very interesting Naruto sort-of-AU...got a good few more of those on favorites if you like those, come to think.
You've probably already seen The Games Angels Play (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/858161/1/) and Brothers in Arms (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/938055/1/) and its sequel, and Chris Dee's (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/22266/) fantastic and truly epic Cat Tales series, so past that, I can only suggest poking through my favorites and favorite complete fics C2 with an eye toward word counts.

Date: 2007-05-16 07:22 am (UTC)It's a Seto/Yami fic with Mokuba/Noa and a Doomish Threesome later. It's actually rather good despite it's name and slight out of characterness at times. Plus it has a lot of NC-17 pieces which is always fun.
