Finally got to see Conan vs the Kaitou Kid anime! ^__^ For some reason, was not expecting to see Nakamori.
And Ysabet: As much fun as Kid and Conan's looks were when they surprised each other, the Kid's grin as he tossed the final flashbomb was the best, IMHO.
... although I don't quite remember the panties in the manga... Kinda wondering about those now. They even matched Ran's bra.

Anyway. Best line of the episode goes to Nakamori, shouting at Mouri.

Nakamori: He's not 1412!! His name is Kaitou Kid! Please do not be mistaken, OKAY?
Mouri: ...okay.

Protective, are we Nakamori-keibu? XD

Plunnies are also going nuts over the fact that Kaitou Kid first made his appearance 18 years ago in Paris.
Last time we saw Hakuba in the series, he was in... yup, you guessed it, Paris.
Research, anyone?

Other fun thing, Kid had attached a Pale Pink Rose to each of his messages. Something that we've noticed in a lot of anime is that flowers convey a lot of hidden meanings and messages, so I looked up the meaning of a Pale Pink Rose. They stand for:
Happiness, Admiration, Gentleness, Grace, Gladness, Thank You and 'Please Believe Me'.

**snerk** It's BETTER in the manga. Take a look; as I recall, Conan is (drumroll, please; this is actually true) clutching Ran's bra in his teeth as he goes tearing down the stairs. Find a scan and take a look; he really is. **falls over laughing** And I have to agree, that look of total "GOTCHA NOW!!!" on KK's face when he whips those sunglasses on just prior to setting off the flashbomb... it is the best one.

The pink rose thing: "Please Believe Me". Uh huh, suuuuuure......

Yeah, I thought the pink rose thing was funny too. Think I prefered his cartoon sig instead.
This could also mean that Nakamori has a collection of dried Kid roses too. ^__^

Ahem: Bear in mind one thing-- it's NOT really Ran's underwear, it's underwear that KK was supposedly wearing (**sweatdrop**) while impersonating her. So if I extrapolate on her going "Wait, that's one of MY bras!!", then... he's been doing some serious research. In Mouri Ran's underwear-drawer.

Which means that KK'd better DAMN well not let anybody find out who he is; 'cause if he does, somebody's going to put two and two together and then he's going to have a furious Ran, a pissed-off Mouri Kogoro, an angry Aoko *and* a boiling-over Shinichi/Conan hunting him down like a dog. And I don't think his hang-glider's fast enough to get away from all four of them.....

Conan: "No, no it isn't, all of YOUR bras have blue roses in the center, not... pink... ones....." **sweatdrop**

Conan: "..... um..... Shinichi! Shinichi-niisan told me the last time I talked to him on the phone!"
Ran: "AAAIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I'M GONNA KILL HIM!!! HE'S DEAD MEAT!!!" **wails and runs from room**
Conan: "Well, great. So much for wanting to be Shinichi again....."

Any way you can incorporate that into WF? *grins* Or if not...then maybe Becky can put it into RT? Poor Conan...it's a lose-lose situation.

Question is, despite the obvious answer of Shinichi being a teen, how would he know Ran's bras? I understand about her undies...but not her bras.

Oh MAN... so many ways to answer this, so many ways I'm NOT gonna answer this...... **swats self on head** Bad Ysabet, no biscuit!

Okay. Several possibilities spring to mind here:

One-- The doujinshis I've read are closer to the truth than you'd ever think.
Two-- Shinichi's ALSO been snooping in Ran's dresser-drawers. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Teenage curiosity and all that.
Three-- He IS a detective, you know. And he lives in the same apartment as Ran. *Somebody's* gotta do the laundry some time.
Four-- Did you ever see the hot-springs episode? Of course, it wouldn't answer just how he knew that MOST of her bras had blue roses rather than pink, but.....

Heh, well I was thinking of the first anime episode where Ran was karate chopping him and his head "accidentally" got stuck under her seemingly-small-but-actually-big-enough-to-fit-his-head skirt. :D

Ah, yes yes...except I was thinking Ran did all that. Can you imagine having to climb up the washing machine just to get the dials? Ick...I used to do that. Do people wash bras in the machine? Isn't it better to handwash? *shrugs*

Hot springs...the Kogoro school reunion one? Nope, I've never watched it, just read the anime. But I suspect that was a rather interesting experience for him...*snickers*

So, will we be seeing this somewhere? ^_^

Because of the elastic in bras, it's better to let them hang dry rather than stick them in the hot dryer that frys the elastic.
Also, in Japan, people usually line-dry their clothing. Even in the apartments, you can see the clothes hanging up to dry on the balconies and most places had poles by the windows to dry clothes on.
So it wouldn't be too strange if Conan saw them hanging up to dry. (or helped her with laundry sometime -?)

And this concludes your odd fact of the day. ^^;;

Ah okis. I forgot this little tidbit too. I know my grandparents in HK sometimes hang out to dry to, but as we live on the 34th floor...no one ever notices...
