-She also scanned the wrap-around, an advert for the 11th movie. I'm starting to become convinced with all the pics of Conan in a pirate costume that he's decided to switch sides of the law.

As it was commented in chat, he's already habitually lying and running red lights. From there it's a slippy slope down to breaking and entering, igniting small incendiary devices and petty theft.
... oh, wait... hasn't he done that already? ^^;;

Conan? He's also impersonating a minor and living under a false identity (complete with forged government documents -- I need to figure out just what the technical term for that is). And then there's the property damage from his soccer ball, you could probably call that vandalism... we're going to have to go through the whole series and pick out all Conan's crimes. Hee.

Was just thinking... that's probably one of the reasons why I dislike Conan so much... he's very much a 'The Ends Justify The Means' type of person.
He'll break the law a dozen different ways and not think about it, as long as he succeeds in what he's doing. And it's okay, because he's a 'Tantei'.

Think one of the reasons why I like Kid so much is because, yes, he's breaking the law. But he's -honest- about it. He's not lying or trying to cover it up.

That's maybe why I can work with Conan and like him. He's flawed -- self-centered, thoughtless, emotionally stunted, and obsessive. Yet he's a genius, and he keeps managing to use his powers for good. (And now that he's shrunk, he's right about at the proper maturity level and can be raised out of it. Heh.)

Kid, of course, is great to write because he's completely batshit insane. ^__^ Hakuba lets me indulge my vocabulary. And Heiji... okay, I'm not as good with Heiji.

And Nakamori and Saguru, but that's to be expected.

And his lying/covering-up to Aoko is understandable, she stands above everyone with her hatred to Kid, not to mention what she's lost to both Kids, her father's barley there because of him, and even when he is, I'm sure he's not...there, he's trying to figure out the next trap for Kid.

If/when Aoko ever finds out, it's not going to be a happy time for a long while, if ever.

Er, but that's just me rambling.

Icka, I think you just made me realize why Conan always made my skin crawl while Kid doesn't.

Even Saguru with his self-centeredness doesn't make me want to smack him as much as Conan does.

...still enjoy reading the series though.
