CHEER ME!!!
Jan. 21st, 2007 05:24 pmWell,
fic_off is working.
We finished the last of the Vampyre AU fics, Beach.
And a new The Grey Zone, Cascade.
We're gonna be going back and working on Vegas next, to fill in some of the blanks. Hahahaha.
*pokes LJ* Well, I haven't gotten paid this week, so my plans re-upping my paid account kinda went bai. Bugger. Good news is that the art in the scrapbook hasn't been removed, I just can't upload. Which'll be fine, it'll be a few days before we get enough to scan in.
[EDIT: ED, YOU SUCK.
edwired paid for another year. THAT WASN'T A HINT. thank you]
dogmatix_san is planning on do a trip of the lower 48 states in the summer, has invited me along for part of it. *Wiggles* Must. Find. JOB. Need money to feed my travel addiction. *sighs* Craigslist is currently full of adult net web cam performers. >_O *ponders* Think I'm too old now.
Either that, or there have been a couple postings for 'Teach English in China'. I have no idea how credible or safe the companies are, but it would be interesting. Anyone know?
And it kinda makes sense, the 2008 Olympics is in Beijing.
In the meantime, met
dqbunny, she's hanging out with us watching Torchwood. Is very cool. Although I'm still pretty sure that Jack's last name is 'Hardness', not 'Harkness'. ^^;;
Hahahaha. Turning Bunny into a slash fan, one comment at a time. ^_______^
And I'm rambling.... time to head off...
[EDIT the second: TUCSON METROPOLOTIAN AREA IS UNDER A SNOW ADVISORY FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS. ^__^]

Date: 2007-01-22 04:36 am (UTC)Wait! Silly me. That's the other fic. The one where they're all clones and vaguely related. Silly me.
It's always so nice to finish a little series, innit? God, I've been with you too long; I remember when all these started.

Date: 2007-01-23 01:08 am (UTC)ESL in China...
Date: 2007-01-22 04:39 am (UTC)Do be careful with some of those China ESL jobs - some companies are good, others are less reliable. a good place to read up on things is Dave's ESL Cafe (http://www.eslcafe.com/) (not me - a different Dave). Its a well-known clearinghouse for English teachers around the world, and a good place to pick up on which recruitment agencies are good, and which are less than scrupulous.
In particular, it seems to be fairly important that, if you get a job offer from one of these places, you make sure that they can sponsor a work visa for you, and will do so before you enter China. There seem to be lots of stories of teachers being told to enter on a tourist visa which will be converted over later (technically illegal). They do, and turn up to find that the job doesn't actually exist - the recruiter was just looking to get them into the country to make things easier at their end.
*Hugs*,

Date: 2007-01-22 11:14 pm (UTC)I've heard some good and so not-so good stories about teaching over seas, so I'm definately cautious about it. ^__^
