Travelling again

Apologies for disappearing, we caught the train back to Los Angeles. #^^# We're back in Tucson.

Had dinner with 'Neechan, Adrian, M and Mike on Thursday night. Had a wonderful time. Hee hee hee.

Dad dropped me off in Downtown LA Friday morning, we had breakfast at Phillpe's. It's famous for being the 'Home of the French Dip Sandwich'. It's got a rivalry with another store down the way for being the actual home. Phillipe's is great, it's a REALLY old fashioned cafeteria place with sawdust on the floor and 9 cents for a cup of coffee. It's a couple of blocks down from Union Station and across the way from court house, so there's lots of police officers that hang out there. picture 1, picture 2, picture 3.

I had a couple of hours to kill before the train left, so headed down to Little Tokyo to kill some time. Stopped by the Buddist Temple and picked up a few omamori as gifts for people. I have a habit of saying 'Un' while listening to people and the the obachan there informed me you say 'Un' to your mother, when talking to her, you say 'Hai'. Or you say 'Hai' when you're not entirely fluent in the language. She was insistent, polite and funny about it, was really nice. (I'd much rather be corrected than do a cultural faux pas.)

The train ride was actually somewhat on time, much to my surprise. Ran into an other anime fan on the train, emi_red does some awesome Naruto art. We watched the 10th Detective Conan movie. She's now a Kaitou Kid fan. ^____^

ysabet, lil_l33t and ferretgirl_1124 picked me up at the train station, at like 2am in the morning. Massive thanks to them. Evidently they'd been terrorising the people waiting for the train with a Stitch hat. That looks like it's eating your head. ^____^

Spent last night watching Doctor Who at taranos and avalina's place, then had drinkies with Scadian's. Was a quiet night, lots of fun.
