So, I'm helping my folks by wrapping gifts while no one's around. The joys of having done it as a job for a season.

And this one keeps randomly talking.

"You're my friend!"

"Hug me!"

"Foot!"

*Icka! refrains from screaming and frantically mummifies the talking thingie*

...your icon still freaks me out no matter how hard I try to get used to it.

Now see, this is why we don't wrap presents with batteries still in 'em if at all possible.

Oh, and Kamen Tantei was very interesting indeed. Wish that one Detective could stick around, though. He was purty.

These are still in the box, I'm not sure if I -can- remove the batteries... ^^;;

I like some of the authours other work, saw that title for half off and -had- to get it.
Then got to the last chapter, with the guy commenting that he can see ghosts and totally went 'OMG!! Kosagi has to see this!!! That would, like, fit Heiji and Kazuha in the Psychic Heiji schtuff!!!' and then made Ysabet read it. ^__^

Think Night Exile (http://www.nightexile.cjb.net/) lists that here are 4 volumes of Kamen Tantei licensed, but they're eventually gonna do Shin Kamen Tantei, so that one purdy Tantei does come back. ~_^ *wiggles happily*

Re: Batteries... "Oh. One of those"

Hmmm. Dead masked detective... Mmmmm.

Y'know, I wonder if I could do a cross-over?

Heiji & boy: *sees ghost* The victim died of strangulation... *stops, stares at each other* You too, huh?

Kazuha and girl: BOYS!

hehe, I not only wrap gifts for mum, I do it for grandmere, mum's friends, random people...apparently you can get a reputation if you're good enough tying things up.

...but really...that would be slightly freaky to have the present talk to you. I'm not sure I even want to know what the present is (though I have a fear of non animate talking objects, too many horror movies about dolls as a kid).

Guess they're lucky you were wrapping and not me or the receiver would open a bound and duct taped item.

Happy Yule to you and your family by the way, in case we dont' run across each other before next Monday. I gave you a gift in your last Plural update on impfics.

It's a talking bear that you give to toddlers. We have an infant and a toddler this year I'm wrapping gifts for. ^^;;

*laughs* One year, I wrapped my youngest sister's prezzie in something like 17 layers. Including boxes, bags, napkins, tissue, wrapping paper, tins, chinese food boxes, duct tape, electrical tape, notebook paper and everything else I could get my hands on.
It took her 26 minutes to open it. We sat around and timed it. ^___________^

Happy Yule to you and yours as well! ((Huggles)) Hope you have a good one!

I'm surprised your sister didn't murder you for that one. I would have (I'm not a greedy spoiled brat...even if I resemble one...really!).

And I KNOW I'm going to have a good Yule this year, the planed extended family dinner..thing fell through, so my most hated uncle will NOT be here to ruin my holiday!

It's hard, being the blacksheep of your family at a full family gathering.

and there I thought that stuffed hippopotamus figure that actually makes a fart sound (from that NCIS show) was the weirdest toy I'd ever heard about...

Hey Icka-love, I'm back from my mother's house (and eleven days without internet, YEEEE). You're the Family Wrapping Elf too? o_o;; it's getting to be a pain for me... I swear there are more presents every year. I started wrapping on the 15th. Honestly, I did at least an hour or two of wrapping EVERY DAY from the 15th to the 23rd, and there was still enough STUFF left over to have me wrapping practically all day on Christmas Eve, up until nearly 2am. Gweh. Not surprised I had a migraine Christmas morning, nope.

Despite that, this was the best Christmas ever. :D I have mucho cool stuff, I once again got the accolade of "Auntie Melanie gives the best presents!" from the kids, and! I won our all-adults three-hour fiercely fought game of Boggle by four points despite my sister's attempt to nobble me using vodka. XD She started feeding me alcohol when I was about fifteen points ahead, and for the first time in my life, I got drunk. It was quite an interesting experience, though not one I really want to repeat in a hurry; I couldn't walk straight, I'm told I had a very disturbing grin, and I was fully aware that I was NOT safe to do anything more physically challenging than sitting comfortably in a chair proving that my vocabulary still worked. I have also discovered that I am one of those annoying people who does not get hangovers. Quite the opposite; I woke up bright-eyed and cheerful at 7.20am, WAY earlier than is usually possible without major outside assistance. Wow. All those years my mother was frustrated by me not being able to wake up early, she should've been giving me a slug of vodka as a nightcap.

I still need a mailing address to send your Christmas present to, y'know. It'll be pretty late 'cause it's not finished yet...
