Art is how we figure things out in advance a lot of the time. And actually, we have that TGA scene done. #^^# Finished it just after working on the pic.
Currently TGA is progressing faster than TGZ. Am most annoyed.

Kid grinned like a cheshire cat; the distraction had worked like a charm, drawing the police - and the two detectives - out of the room just long enough. Two detectives because Hakuba followed wherever he went anyway, and it was Heiji's home ground so he had to be there. The target this time was a polished emerald held in a golden setting styled to look like a centipede, with three silver bands clamped about the golden centipide. His white-gloved hand closed about the dark emerald just as Hakuba and Heiji skidded back in through the yawning open doors. It should have been a simple matter to pull off a disappearance and widen the gap between thief and detectives. But something was different, something was wrong.

Kaito Kid stood entranced, frozen in agony as dark energy screamed slowly up his arm. He felt as if his arm was imploding, and it was slowly moving higher and higher, until it flooded out into his entire body, making his heart stutter and clench as something icy cold bit his ear.

He didn't have any attention to spare for the two detectives, but that didn't matter anyway - Heiji was almost down on his knees, hands clenched in his hair as if to tear something out of his brain, and Hakuba was frozen solid, trembling ever so slightly as glazed eyes stared into nothingness.

Kaito came back to himself with a gasp, just in time to see the rest of the police force storm through the door, almost knocking down a dazed looking Hakuba. Head swimming, Kaito caught Heiji's blood-red eyes and everything fell into place.

The shot that rang out brought everyone to a shocked halt, not least Kaito, who gaped at the chi barrier he'd instinctively errected to deflect the bullet. Hakuba, red dot smack dab in the middle of his forehead and still holding the gun he'd appropriated from some hapless policeman, scowled fiercely at Kid. "You moron," the golden haired detective grated.

"Sorry, can't stay right now," Kaito replied amiably and disappeared in a puff of smoke. Hakuba snarled and ran outside, calling for Heiji to follow.

Somewhere on a mountaintop, Son Goku whooped and punched the air in jubilation as Sanzo's pull focused and strengthened. Next stop, Osaka!

'Scars': Ooooh; haven't read THAT bit yet! **saaad chibi!eyes** I know you said that it was a bad art night, but I liked it, actually. How far along in the storyline's that bit? They're looking awfully relaxed... There's a saying I heard about scars somewhere-- 'Scars prove survival; every scar is one more trauma whose ass you kicked.' Or something like that; I like it.

'Veils': I freaking LOVE this one, especially the look on KK's face. You know, after reading the stuff you posted last night, it hit me sort of late that that comment about missing flying was very, very poignant...

Actually ended up going 'hmm' and writing most of that scene last night in the chat window after you logged off. ^^;; Gomen nasai. *opens new window and sends the scars snippet to Ysabet*

Um... working on the Mai scene now, then we have the Mokuba teenage!meltdown scene, the shirtless scene and then the Scars scene, um... then this one (http://pics.livejournal.com/ickaimp/pic/0005krd9/g14) and a few others before we get a break in the fic. ~_~ And then we can update! *falls over*

The veils pic I think looks better when it's smaller, when it's big you get all the messy pencil marks and I don't think it looks quite as good.
But yeah, Kaito's currently stuck with his feet on the ground.
The flying comment was almost 'he misses his wings', which would REALLY caused some interesting comments farther down the road...

Oh, that reminds me. Based off the pic/scene, what do you think would be a good nickname for someone to give him?
Thinking similar lines to Yuusaku giving Toichi the name 'Kid' from '1412', he doesn't pick his stage name, someone else does it by accident.
-failing that, we'll go with what we told you in chat. ~_^

Nickname, hm? It'd sort of depend on who was giving it to him-- ignorant bystanders, the police, his friends, who? **grin** And what's the name of the street it happened on? Because part of my brain is jumping up and down and yelling "if it was, say, Seventh Avenue, they could call him the Magician of Seventh Avenue" which to the rest of me sounds rather dumb but... dunno. Will think about it...

...and the 'scars' bit you sent me was GOOD. Man, Jou doesn't forget anything, does he? Can't blame him for it, though. **snicker** I'm curious as to what brought the conversation on-- comparing scars is a very testosterone thing to do, when you think about it (SCA fighters do it all the time, as well as bruises. And actually, the female fighters do it too. What's the feminine version of testosterone? Breastosterone? ^__^)

Hey, guess what? I'm thinking of trying skydiving this weekend! Mmmmmaybe. IF I can persuade myself I can afford it and IF they have an opening (I've sent an email), just because I've always wanted to. Nyah. Why not?

I think Jou's the kind to hold a grudge until -he- decides it's time to let it go. Which means it's either forgotten quickly, or remembered until the end of time. ^^;;
We where having fun comparing scars over coffee not long ago, is just a fun past time. And you get neat stories.

Um, finances... **large sweatdrop** yes, and last night I had to do one of those lovely SURPRISE!PURCHASES! where you suddenly have an expense you didn't expect, and I *did* think about finances (I wrote the thing about skydiving because I followed a link and got enthused) and... ehh. No skydiving, dammit. The expense, btw, was a new tire-- had dry-rot from the sun in the old one, and I had put air in it twice in 3 days. **sigh**

Nickname from innocent bystanders-- You know what that pic reminds me of? A dragonfly. But I dunno, that doesn't really fit. 'Ghost'? **snicker** 'Phantom'? Conan could make him sweat with that reference, maybe... The Phantom of Whatever-Street?
