Right. Mudane and SCA stuff aside, Fandom!!! Because we've discovered that the great majority of people who we meet in RL know -nothing- about anime and tend to get really confused by our LJ. And that the great majority of the people we meet online know -nothing- about SCA and tend to get really confused by our LJ.
... have also gotten comments in RL that for an LJ, we rarely post anything about ourselves. It's most cause I think we're boring. And not that we're paranoid, but we're paranoid.
And as it's also been pointed out, it's our bloody LJ, we'll post what we want. So there. Nyah.

Hmm... looks like the authour of Black Cat has started a new series... 'To Love'.

Also picked up volumes 51, 52 and 53 of Detective Conan at the Sydney Kinokuya. Which much to my surprise, sold mostly English books. And some Chinese manga. This was the first one I've ever been to that wasn't Japanese-only.
The movie book for Movie 10 isn't out yet. Bugger.

Does anyone know of any summaries that have come out for the 10th movie yet? Or for the 6th OVA? English or Japanese, I don't care. *eyes 'Ahou Calling' and 'Kid Ref Page' specutively*


Is it just me, or when Heiji and Saguru first meet, is there a pissing contest about who's father is higher ranking? Cause if we got that right in SoG, I'm gonna fall over laughing.

... Think that Heiji's annoyance with Saguru is a little overboard, but since I can't read much of what's going on, not sure. Either way, it's damn funny.

There's this rumour about the WebSunday site saying that Gosho's taking a 2 month break after file 570...
WHERE on the site does it say that? Granted, I don't speak much Japanese, but I can't find that info on WebSunday, even with a on-line translator. Can someone paste the Japanese text where it says it?

... and the timing of that feels odd IMHO... Movie 10 (which has been #1 in the japanese box office for 2 weeks! XD ) is gonna be bringing in a lot of new and old fans... why would he do something that's potentially gonna bring down the series popularity? o_O? Wouldn't have made more sense to take a vacation -before- the hype about movie 10, when his return would have added to the excitement?

The AnimeNewsNetwork info came from someone who got it from the Conan Proboards, where the information was started as far as I can find.

Considering the history of the Proboards Forum, I'd really like to know what page on the Websunday site the info is from.
Cause the only Conan stuff in the Websunday News section is about the 10th Movie reaching #1 and the release of the 6th OVA (Kid looks funny on the cover). Can't find anything on the Websunday DC page either.

The 'pissing contest' was kind of one sided. That is, it was all Heiji. I think its downright hilarious. Especially love how he supposedly keeps showing Hakuba how things are done. (pwns him on getting into locked rooms) Also, they are wearing their uniforms as represenatives of their school. Heh. How do I know? Let's say I am grateful for those Japanese-English translation links you gave me.

Your movie 10 comment reminds me. I need to nag friend to see movie. I gave her money to. She bites at summaries but she ought to be able to say if it was awesome. Makes me glad they do the overall summary at the beginning of the movies. Then she can sorta learn what's up.

Hakuba isn't wearing a uniform because he's been going to school in England. Ummm, I'll put you on one of the custom lists so you can see what I've done so far with 563 (I'm stuck on page 15). That way, you can read it. ^_^ I just need a few minutes to do that.

Well, I think DC is a seperate universe than MK (MK is just too silly to be in the same one). Kid just happens to exist in multiple universes. Hmmmmm, that sounds like a fic idea. Kids from different universes meeting.

Separate universes? Well... Hakuba doesn't claim to be the "Kaito Kid expert" in vol 30, but he talks about "the criminal of the only case he wasn't able to solve". So he knows Kid-sama. It doesn't yet still prove anything, but I still think they are the same universe, just a bit... twisted sometimes.

*shrug* That's just how I kind of think of it. Yaiba, as we know it, doesn't exist in DC but does in MK. The DC Kid seems more collected and mature than the MK one (until some of the more recent chapters which I only have passing knowledge at, so I can't say anything about them).

They have, but not in most of the high school. If you are sixth former(upper and lower sixth aka year 12 and 13), you can wear whatever you like as long as the school allow. However, some school would like to keep their image good, so they do not allow casual wear.

Someone posted a cover with the characters on it... one's a girl, the other is a boy who looks kinda like a younger version of Train.

Regarding Gosho's vacation, I believe it's Samuel Curtis who put the info up on the proboards. He also shared the info on the Conan mail listing, where he says it'll be the two months following file 570 (this week's is 565 I believe. Does that mean we get a Detective Boys file just before he goes off?)
I think he says his source is the Shounen Sunday magazine, but heh, I haven't found any other source that confirms it. (Although my usual sources don't seem to disconfirm it.)
Also, it might not be a vacation, but a study trip to prepare material for upcoming cases. :co

And I fail, I didn't notice Hakuba's wristwatch. D:

Stepping back, it's kinda interesting to see the rumours fly and mutate.
On the Proboards, there was a comment about he flew to New York before doing the Golden Apple case, to get a better feel for the city (and now he might be going to London), but I don't think there was a break before Golden Apple...

Yeah, the Proboards lately seem to have a kinda harsh feeling. With Knightus' page up, don't really feel the need to check there constantly like I did when it was pretty much the sole source for new translations.

6th OVA hasn't shipped yet as far as I know so pretty much impossilbe for a summary. ^^ I will try to watch it (that's WATCH not translate which sadly can't do) asap once I get mine but work is 10-13hours a day, 6 days a week for past 3 weeks and likley to stay this way for a month or more. >.<

Deadline is until May 31st to get form + payment in to get one.

I was more disturbed by fans reaction to Gosho's vacation (if he is taking one) that he'll come back refreshed and be ready to write the ENDING. These "fans" so determined to see the series end ... @#*#$&$^

Yes, 10th movie review or something would be fantastic ... my friend in Japan WON 2 tickets for it but a) he's not a huge fan b) nearest theatre with the movie currently is 50km away. How's that for torturing a fan? arrrgh

Yeah, the questions about how/when it's gonna end continues to plauge... Really does get annoying after a while. Cause, dammit, DC is a fairly -STABLE- manga. We get plot twists every couple of months, but it's nice to know that it's always coming out and the ending is in the FAR distance.

Dammit. If we could find someone in Japan to watch it and bribe them with tickets (which aren't in-expensive) for a summary... That would be great.
Guess movie 8, with two people doing summaries for it, one within a week and my long one, was kinda rare...
