"He's got the jewel!" The shout went up from Nakamori, nearly deafening Hakuba. He grimaced, sending a not-so polite mental thank you back towards the inspector. Just what he needed, to be deafened on a heist night.
The Kid waved at them happily as he picked up the jewel, only to have his grin fade away replaced with shock as the jewel began to glow with a pale red light. Hakuba threw an arm up to protect his eyes as several of the other men cursed in the background. He made a mental note that Nakamori's influence seemed to be rubbing off on them.
When he lowered his arm to look, the Kid was gone.
In Kid's place was a monkey.
Wearing a top hat, a monocle, cape and a suit coat.
Who was looking rather confused as it held the gem the Kid had been holding seconds before. "Ook?"
"Get him!" Nakamori bellowed undeterred by the sudden change in species.
The Kaitou Monkey let out a startled screech and disappeared into the rafters, taking the jewel with him. Officers scrambled to catch up to him, Nakamori chasing after them.
Hakuba snickered, walking over to the pedestal and picking up what the Kid had left behind when he transformed. "Man, is -he- going to be embarrassed when he changes back." He chortled to himself as he shook out the Kid's trousers.
