[18] B&W Essay / Art

So it dawns on me that, oops. We have the ship_manifesto essay due in less than a week. We should prolly get started on that... *chuckles*

So sat down and started working on a bit of an outline, using the e-mail they sent me for the important parts. Not to be taken entirely seriously. ^____^ *snickers madly*



You requested: Saguru Hakuba/Kuroba Kaito in the (Detective Conan / Magic Kaito Fandom)

Or Kaito can top. I'm not picky. ^_________^

Your essay should include all of the following points:

1. Small character studies that allow the reader to get to know the characters and understand who they are.

Hakuba Saguru - Dork

Kuroba Kaito - Brat

Kid the Phantom Thief - Bastard

And... possibly those girly people and the two old guys.

2. Canon or subtext evidence for why your characters work in a pairing.

Of the thirty-two (24 MK, 5 DC, 3 Movies) times Kid has appeared in media, Saguru has shown up five times. (Kudo Shin'ichi/Conan has shown up nine times, BTW.)

Golden Eye: Shonen Sunday Special -
Saguru calls Kaito from France to inform him that he pwns Kid. Kaito thinks his voice is sweet.

Sunset Mansion: Detective Conan Vol 30-
Saguru admits he's obsessed with Kid. Everyone v. shocked. Not.
Kid comments that Saguru's his lover. Hee.

Akako's Delivery Service: Vol 3, ch 4 -
Saguru handcuffs Kaito, refuses to leave his side.

Kaitou Under Scrutiny: Vol 3, ch 3 -
Kid jumps Saguru. They wrestle on the floor. Kid wears Saguru's clothing. V. romantic. Also, Saguru has a fondness for chains & bondage.

A Great Detective Takes the Stage: Vol 3, ch 2 -
Kid kneels at Saguru's feet. Saguru grins back. Snark at first sight.

3. Your own interpretation of the pairing and why you choose to ship them.

The Possiblity for Snark. And comedy. But mostly snark.

4. Some background information into how you became involved with the fandom, and why you were first attracted to the pairing.

Because no one else was writing Kid, and then Saguru was a prat.

5. Meta/insight into why the reader should be following this pairing.

The Snark.

6. Short fandom guide (fic recs, sites etc. resources that will help a newcomer entering fandom who may want to write or ship your favorite pairing)

No, sorry, don't think so.
Any Fanart that's openly Kaito-Hakuba that I've done (apart from random 'let's make fun of Saguru with T-shirts, and maybe make his brain explode' ones) are either few and scattered or are amongst the pile I'd rather die than show 6_6...

I might think of doing some more :c/ Kaito is really fun to draw ~ and Hakuba's a cool dork.

As for any Hakuba-Kaitou fics I've read? Hummm...
I know of one or two in english, but I wouldn't recommend them. There might be one in french (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2457432/1/), but french writers are either mary-sues or scared of leaving Canon :c/

Yup, we orginally hated Saguru for stalking Kaito/Kid. And waving handcuffs and tieing things down with chains.

Then amusement factor of that finally kicked in about the time we gave him Sir Stinky and he's been kinda fun ever since.

Oooh. I can't wait to read the Oragami bit. It looks to be a very interesting somewhat-angsty scene.

This chapter is driving us nuts because Kaito finally discovers horomones. And has Nightmares. The two are not nessicarily related.
But!!! It will end on a light note, dammit!!!!!!!!! >D

I found it, Icka! I found the real one! I was reading Sherlock Holmes last night and stumbled upon it.

His Last Bow, The Adventure of the Red Circle:

[Holmes and Watson were watching a building from across the street. They saw something through the window that arouses their suspicion of foul play. They decided to go check it out first before going to the police, but when they arrived...]

"Holmes!"

"Why, Gregson!" said my companion as he shook hands with the Scotland Yard detective. "Journey end with lovers' meetings. What brings you here?"

They are the exactly same words as the one from "The Adventure of the Empty House" except this time Holmes just said it without saying that he quoted from somewhere (and without quotation marks too).

Gosh this is making me sound like a geek, but I was really excited when I found it last night. ^^;
