We really really really do wonder about Kyuu sometimes.

"Ooooo.... That Kyuu!" Megu growled, her cheeks puffing out in an irritated face. "Why does he always act so surprised whenever he sees my panties?! Announcing it like that, sheesh..." She stomped to her seat, slammed the bag down on the desk and plopped down in her chair, sulking. Every time the wind blew her skirt up, Kyuu announced out loud to everyone, in a high surprised voice, no matter how many times she tried to convince him not to.

Ryuu and Kinta exchanged a silent look, then the quiet blue haired boy and the tall martial artist quietly went to their seats as well. The subject of conversation was currently using the toilet before class started.

"Well..." Kazuma glanced around before pushing his glasses higher on his face. "What if he is?"

"Huh?" Three pairs of eyes turned towards the young computer genius in surprise.

"Surprised." Kazuma continued, setting his bag down on his own desk. "Kyuu's really innocent about some things, right? And he only lives with his 'Kaasan and now Ryuu, right? Ryuu, you've probably seen their laundry. What colour underwear does his 'Kaasan wear?"

"I get it!" Kinta exclaimed. "White, right?"

The blue haired boy gave them all a disinterested look. "I'm not answering that."

Kinta and Kazuma exchanged amused looks, quietly snickering. "It's white." They gleefully chorused.

Ryuu ignored them.

Megu looked at her classmates in astonishment. "So he really is surprised at the colours and patterns and that's why he says them out loud?"

"That's be my theory." Kazuma grinned, sitting back in his seat proudly.

"So all you have to do to get him to stop announcing it... " Kinta did a dramatic enthusiastic pose "...Is for him to know what it is before hand!!"

"WHAT?!" Megu stared at her classmates in shock. "B-but there's no way I can..."

"Would you rather have Kyuu shout it out in the middle of an investigation?" Kazuma asked.

The door slid open and Kyuu ran in. "Am I late?"

"The teacher hasn't arrived yet." Ryuu reassured his friend.

"Ah. Whew." The dark-hair boy plopped down in his chair. "Did I miss anything important?"

"Not really." Megu smiled weakly. Kinta reached over his desk and poked her, getting her attention. "Eh?"

"You should try it." He whispered. "Just for a week as an experiment. See if it works."

She sweatdropped in response, the door opening a second time as the teacher walked in, saving her from having to answer.

It was a stupid idea. It'd never work.

It was a few days later when it happened again. They were walking as a group towards the scene of another mystery when a sudden breeze flipped Megu's skirt up, causing her to yelp and push it back down. She turned quickly, anticipating another shout from Kyuu, announcing what the colour and pattern was today.

Instead, he had a look on his face as if he was comparing something in his head, before continuing his conversation with Ryuu.

She blinked, blinked again, then continued walking before they could bump into her. Kinta and Kazuma stared for a moment as well before quickly shuffling to her side. "So... did you tell him?"

"Um..." Pink rose in Megu's cheeks, matching her hair. "Yeah. Every morning when we meet for class."

"And it worked?" Kazuma questioned brightly.

Megu nodded.

"Ha! Yes!" Kinta and Kazuma laughed in celebration, high-fiving each other. Megu sighed, ignoring their behaviour as the boys being immature adolescents.

Sure, it worked.

But it was really embarrassing telling someone what colour underwear you were wearing every day....
