Kaitou Ann's Hakuba and Kuroba brilliantly quote the Bard and kiss.
Po'e Nui's Hakuba and Kuroba debate Shakespeare and have off screen snogging.
Our Hakuba and Kuroba quote Monty Python and have bizarre battle cries.
There's just something horribly wrong with this picture...

After 'Take me Out', before 'St. Valentine's Day Night'.
Thanks to Ela for the exams info!! XD

Thirty-five seconds before the bell rang to signal the end of the school day.

"Any questions?" The teacher asked.

Thirty-three seconds.

Koizumi raised her hand.

Twenty-seven seconds.

"Yes?"

Twenty-four seconds.

Koizumi rose from her chair.

Eighteen seconds.

"Why is it called a blow job if you don't blow, you suck?"

It took approximately six seconds for her question to sink in. Hakuba, much like the rest of the classroom, turned and stared at witch. She stood there calmly, an island of calmness surrounded by a sea of gaping mouths.

"Well?"

"Uh..." The teacher stammered.

The bell rang.

Hakuba scrambled out of his chair, tossing his books and papers into his bookcase, any sense of danger he might have possessed screaming for him to flee.

As he headed for the door, he noticed Kuroba leaning a tousled head towards his desk mate. "Aoko, would you mind-?"

The inspector's daughter made a shooing motion, her eyes still round. "Go. Run. Flee like the wind."

"Thank you." The magician's voice sang of gratitude as the lithe teen rose, slipping through mass of shell-shocked classmates. A hand gripped his elbow, quickly escorting him out of the door as behind them, Koizumi asked if anyone was willing to volunteer to demonstrate.

"Ah. Ha. Ha." He laughed nervously, grateful for Kuroba's almost magical seeming ability to glide through crowds with a minimum of fuss.

"If we hurry, we can be off campus before she realizes we're gone." Kuroba muttered quietly, the insistent grip never leaving Hakuba's arm. He was quietly thankful for the assistance in avoiding Koizumi. She seemed to have taken a liking to seeing how red she could make him blush, a novel entertainment that eluded his understanding.

"And here I thought we were all becoming friends." He commented drolly.

Kuroba flashed him a dark look. "You wanna stay behind and volunteer?"

"Hell no."

"Okay then." They picked up the pace, not quite a run or a jog, but enough to by pass even the most eager students ready to leave school. There was a brief pause as they hurriedly changed from school scuffs to normal shoes, then they were out the door.

Kuroba smacked him upside the back of his head with his bookbag outside the door, and then took off running.

"What'd you do that for?!" He demanded because it was expected of him and took off after his companion. Kuroba was the faster of the two, but he obviously wasn't going full out, Kid-fast. Hakuba could hear Koizumi's voice from the windows upstairs and picked up the pace anyway. He was half afraid that the witch would suddenly pull out a broomstick and chase after them from the air.

With the frequency that Aoko pulled a mop out of nowhere to hit Kuroba with, the idea was not that far fetched.

They ran like that for a few blocks, turning down a few side streets to ensure that they wouldn't be followed before slowing down to a companionable walk.

"Man." Kuroba grinned, stretching his arms over his head. "It's hard to believe that this is our last year of high school sometimes."

"-Especially the way some people act." Hakuba agreed with a slight grin.

"Don't know who you could be talking about." The false air of innocence did not help Kuroba's case. Hakuba raised an eyebrow at the straight-faced magician. The moment stretched.

Then they both started snickering, doubled over in laughter. Immature? Them? Never!

Well, not more than once at a time, anyway.

"So you decided which college you're going to apply for?" Kuroba asked with a grin. "Testing starts this week after all."

"Don't remind me." He muttered. Just what they all loved. Tests to prove that they could regurgitate the information they'd been spoon-fed thought the years. Everyone was going to be in a high-tension mood until it was over. "You have your major picked out?"

"Yeah." The dark haired boy stretched, folding his arms behind his head, loosely clasped bookbag bumping against his upper back. "I'm thinking a business degree wouldn't hurt. Maybe do that as a Major with a Minor in Theatre. Not only as a backup in case following in Dad's footsteps doesn't work out, but so I can make sure that any contracts I work are fair. You?"

Hakuba shrugged. There really was only one logical way for him to turn. "Criminology. Bunch of Psychiatry classes too, I think. Still can't seem to get into people's heads as well as I'd like." Unlike Kid, who could play mind games with the audience with an ease of second nature. "There's a couple of schools here that look interesting and I've gotten a few really good offers from some Universities back in Europe."

"Ah." Kuroba nodded sagely. The voice was friendly, but there was an odd empty quality to it. "I was somewhat anticipating something that happening. You being the Famous Teenage Detective from Europe and all."

Hakuba stared at the darker haired boy in shock, things slipping into a figuration he wasn't necessarily comfortable with.

Somehow, he'd managed not to think about it very logically. Never crossed his mind that he might -go away-, go to Europe while Kuroba, Kid, stayed in Japan. He was so used travelling between the two that he'd forgotten that it was a HUGE amount of space and time between the two. This wasn't like moving just down the street.

This was the other side of the WORLD.

"Switch over." He blurted. "Please. I need to ask your other half a question."

Now it was Kuroba's turn to stare at him as if he were the one who had grown a second head. Hakuba met the gaze evenly, somewhat shocked at his own bravado for asking such a request of his companion in the first place.

Then dark eyebrows came down as they stepped into the shade of a tree, once again Kuroba -changing-, shifting into someone who was taller, more angular that he was. Hakuba got the feeling as if Kid were taller than he was, even though there was still a six-centimetre difference in height. A hand reached up as if to move wily strands of hair out of his face, but rested there, concealing half of the narrow face.

"You knew that was an option, didn't you?"

Dark violet eyes, so much different from Kuroba's usual lighter indigo, yet still familiar, considered him carefully. "Yes." Kid granted.

Hakuba nodded. He hadn't, somehow naively thinking that they'd remain within the same circles after the end of the school year. The idea had not even crossed his mind that they might go on separate paths after High School.

Kid/Kuroba had been probably been adding this to his calculations, attempting to predict his responses. The final choice was Hakuba's, of course, and the magician-thief had stepped back to let him make that decision on his own.

Trusted him. To keep his secrets if Hakuba did decide to return to England. To not leave at all.

Trusted Hakuba to watch his back, no matter what the decision.

They stepped out of the tree's shade, the hand dropping from Kuroba's face as all the energy and personality that had been focused inward seemingly melting out until he was talking to the usually bouncy magician once again.

"Thank you." Hakuba said softly. Part of him wished that he had a better answer, hell any answer, to give the thief. He didn't have enough information to make a decision. And he wouldn't, not until after all the exams were done and they both knew which Universities they had a shot at.

Kuroba gave him a slight smile, his eyes still leaning towards violet. "Live each day as if it were your last, plan as if you're going to live forever." He quoted cryptically.

Hakuba nodded, reaching a hand out slightly to wrap his fingers around the inside of Kuroba's wrist and giving it a brief squeeze before letting it go. Kuroba gave him a bit of an odd look, then flashed him a brief smile.

A Kaitou's profession was a dangerous one.

So was a Detective's.

They spoke no more about serious matters as they walked home, attempting to recapture the previous light-hearted feeling.

Thirty-one seconds before the bell rang to signal the end of the school day.

"Any questions?" The teacher asked.

Twenty-six seconds.

Koizumi raised her hand.

Twenty-three seconds.

"Yes?"

Hakuba and Kuroba exchanged looks.

Seventeen seconds.

Koizumi rose from her chair.

The class held its breath in sort of a dreaded anticipation.

Twelve seconds.

"NO ONE EVER EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!" Kuroba and Hakuba announced rising out of their chairs as well, quickly moving towards the stunned witch. Quickly scooping her up in her chair and carrying it by the legs, they carried the stunned witch towards the door.

"Our chief weapon is surprise-"

"-and fear-" Kuroba added helpfully.

"-and ruthless efficiency-"

"-And nice red uniforms."

"-Which we are currently not in." Hakuba amended.

The bell rang.

"We'll come in again."

With that, they carried her out into the hallway, shouting about 'comfy chairs' and chanting "Confess! Confess! Confess!" until they were out of earshot.

Aoko sighed, shrugged and set about collecting her, Koizumi, Kuroba and Hakuba's book bags. "Well." She said blandly. "No one -does- ever expect the Spanish Inquisition..."

Oh God. Oh GOD! OH. MY. GOD! That æast part was hillarious. Really, what is it with you and Monty Python? (my older brother have just bought "Monty Python And The Quest For The Holy Grail"... there WILL be plenty of quotes from me for a long time)

The whole Monty Python thing prolly wouldn't annoy me quite as much if I'd actually seen the show and not just Holy Grail and Meaning of Life.
Because they won't QUOTE those two movies!!! >D

*giggles like mad* I loved that ending. Wasn't expecting it at all. *snerk*

>.>;;; Am now kind of getting weirded out by the seemingly split-personality thing Kaito did. But it's okay. Will get over. >.>...Kind of cool really...like an unexpected threesome at times...

*hits self in head* X.x...I've been corrupted...

Spanish Inquisition. Heh.

*grins* I think those two are going to give the Spanish Inquisition a GOOD name. Other teachers will be like... "please? Make her stop?"

Of course, that would mean they'd be expected. And they'll lose their weapon of surprise. Darn it. They'll have to rely on their lovely red cloaks.

And you realise I'm now imagining Kaitou pulling a heist in one... "NOBODY expects the Spanish THIEF!"

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude!!! Do it!!! XD XD XD
*bounces*

... Either that or that would make a really good rival Kaitou, like the Chat Noir episode.
Kaitou Kid vs the Scarlet Pumpernickle? ^_______^ heh.

I see no problem with their quoting Monty Python. *smirks*

You might check the library for the Flying Circus, you've got a good chance they carry it if Morgan doesn't *gasp* already have it. Otherwise, folks, we have a birthday prezzie here...

*grins* I like the addition of the interlude, placing this in SOG.

I have to watch Moty Python now.

Kami, it looks like Kaito's rubbed off on Hakuba something fierce.
