Gosho Timeline / Crossovers
Jun. 23rd, 2004 01:39 amCrossposted to O1T, since there were some questions there by some newbies.

Tankubon Releases:
May 1988 Magic Kaito #1
Nov 1988 Magic Kaito #2
April 1993 Yoban Saato/Third Base Fourth (baseball series with a
mystical twist)
Feb 1994 Go-show Aoyama Presents (various short stories)
Oct 1994 Magic Kaito #3 (end)
March 1994 Yaiba #24 (end)
July 1994 Meitantei Conan #1
April 2004 Meitantei Conan # 45
(anyone known when the next one's coming out?)
I have Yaiba #1-4 in Double Digest format, which was published after the series ended, so I can't check dates there. Yaiba #5 was printed in Jan 1990, so it's a safe bet that Yaiba was started about the time MK #2 came out.
Yaiba crosses over into Magic Kaito in MK #3, Kid's trying to steal a sword from Yaiba's household.
Okita Soushi from Yaiba #24 shows up in DC #31 as Heiji's Kendo Rival. Hattori's name also shows up in Yaiba #24 as one of the particpants in the tournament, going up against Yaiba's rival, Onimaru. (Yaiba fights Soushi)
The Purple Sea Cucumber Demon Lord from Yaiba shows up in DC as the Purple Charm on Ran's cellphone.
Yoban Saato crossed over in Detective Conan #43 and 44, the baseball teams playing while Conan and Heiji run around.
Yuusaku and Yukiko Kudo (Shin'ichi's parents) show up in the animated version of Go-show Presents, doing the mystery story from the last chapter of the tankubon.
-what's amusing about the animated short is that the movie posters in the background are other chapters of the tankubon. There's even a close up of the book as Yuusaku takes his seat at the very end. #^^#
The Kid shows up in DC #16, #20, #30 and #44 and movies 3 and 8.
There's 4 chapters plus a special that never made it to tankubon.
*sighs* What's the scary part is not only do we have all the series listed, but have doujinshi for all the series as well... >_<
Also pretty sure that in the anime, Sato's former partner is on the movie poster in the background during The Blue Wonder heist. o_O Look behind the Shonen Tantei as they're exiting the theatre, to the left of the MiB poster.

Date: 2004-06-23 11:57 pm (UTC)...by then, I'd have a Yaiba question to ask. Wait until I've got the recap.
