[fic] SoG short fic, Anime Night Ramble

Lesson #1 of the Night: Chocolate Chips and Wasabi Peas taste really really good together.
Espeically if you're female and it happens to be that time of the month. Expect a fic reference to it later.

Watched Naruto episodes 80-83 tonight with Ysabet, Morgan and Sean. Much fun.
It has now been decided that I will work on a Tsunade costume. Which will make it one of the few cosplay costumes I've made that you can actually see my face.*cough*naraku*cough*larva*cough* Looks like currently the hardest part of the costume will be getting the hair colouring right, because we've got the chest for it. *pats bumpers*

-still looking for pics of me in the Vermouth costume from AnimeFEST last year. So if anyone finds a photo of a Shin'ichi plushie in some clevage, could you please lemme know? ^^;; Thanks.

"See? There it did it again!"

"No, it did not."

"Did too." Kuroba shot Hakuba a wide playful grin.

Hakuba rubbed his forehead and resisted the urge to inflict bodily harm upon his friend. Why had he agreed to allowing Kuroba keep him company while he flew his hawk? "Watson did not just call me an idiot, Kuroba."

"Sure it did." Kuroba pointed to the circling bird soaring above them. "Watch, they'll do it again."

As if on cue, the bird called out, the noise echoing in the trees.

"Told you."

Hakuba sighed, reaching up and removing one of his brown contacts to reveal a gold and brown speckled eye. He shielded his face as he peered upwards, quietly thanking the fact that he was actually quite farsighted as opposed to having the perfect vision his companion had.

"That is not Watson."

"You sure?" Kuroba questioned.

"Watson is over there." He pointed off to the left where the bird of prey had just spotted something that appeared interesting to her. He then pointed to the bird circling above them. "That. Is a crow."

"Oh."

The crow above them let out another cry. "Ahou."

-fin-

"Ahou" = moron, dummy, idiot. Also a sound a crow occasionally makes in anime and manga to make a comedic point that someone is being stupid.

In SoG, Hakuba is farsighted (like Watson) and wears contacts for both correction and camouflage. Blue for when he's in Europe, dark brown when he's in Japan. -Which explains his shifting eye colours canonly. ^__^

Random Factoid from Tuesday Night: Miko, the main character in La Blue Girl, is from the 'Miroku' Clan.

...So... o_O is Watson (or the poser-Watson-crow) a male or a female? And I didn't know about that ahou business... XD;; It sounds amusing.

Um... doesn't matter on the crow. ^^;;

A while back, hakaisha had a question about Watson, so we sat down and searched the internet for about an hour, based off of what was said about Watson in the Sunset Mansion case.
Mainly Watson's colouring, size and the fact that Hakuba said that he got Watson in England.
-which actually narrows it down a lot.
There aren't many birds of prey in England,and fewer that are used for falcontry.
So we were able to determine that Watson is a Sparrowhawk, and by the slightly smaller size and brown colouring, Watson is Female.

-if anyone can counter that, or has information we might have missed, please, would love to know. In the meantime, snickering over the fact that Watson is Female.

Learned the Ahou business years ago, it shows up in Rumiko Takashi's stuff on a pretty frequent basis. ^^;;

I'll defer to your research, of course, but I'd been under the impression that all females of the raptor family were larger than their respective tiercels.

My website celebrates 5 years of existance this week. ^^;; We're a little slow updating, so most of the current stuff is here on LJ.
Sorry for not posting on Conanfics quite as much anymore. If I posted as frequently as I did here... well... #^^# We have been accused of spamming with fics in the past.
