Heh Heh... oops. Saw Cased Closed.
May. 25th, 2004 02:55 pmSwear, Conan's stalking me. First was the timing of everything coming out in Japan (manga, movie) then we move, discover much to our surprise that hey! we have cable! -then get insominia the one night that Case Closed premires on Adult Swim. o_O
Thought it came out next week, really I did.
*ahem* We made notes.
Opening Song:
First opening, sung in english. Passible translation, kinda miss the 'doki doki', which they translated as 'chest' and 'heart' at various points. Think they're missing back-up singers, need to hear it again.
Boo on Megure's voice. Think they're trying to make him sound Bronx-ish/Bugsy Malone. "Friend of the Stiff" and "Cold fish on the floor" ¬_¬
Jimmy's voice reminds me of Fred from Scooby Doo. I'm sorry, that's the only comment I can really think to make of it.
Agasa is now German, ja. o_0
Moore's voice sound younger than Jimmy's. And higher.
Rachel's voice sounds the oldest and most mature. Kinda debating on if it matches/fits well or not.
Amy's voice - I'm sorry, it's so sickening high and cute I kinda wanna strangle her. Sorry.
Mitch - Decent. ^^
George - Kinda wimpy, IMHO.
Commerical Break: No slamming doors with torches burning, instead you get a bluesy riff with a B&W snapshot of a city in the background and glowing siloettes of the Junior Detectives or Ran and Conan spinning around.
Jin - Not tough sounding at all.
Vodka - Sounds good, but gets negative points for the over use of 'mac' at the end of every sentance.
They did keep the musical trill for whenever a clue/case clicks together.
Conan's voice on the preview: Helium anyone? o_O
Ending song appeared to have the same singer as the opening, they did cut it short.
They kept 'Next Conan's Hint' and seemed to be the same funny voice.
Over all: Ummm... reserving judgement until we stay up tonight to see how they handle Conan. Has the potential to get a lot better once the voice actors settle into their roles, I think. Not entirely hopeless.
I apologise, I dont' have the ablity to record it. ;_; sorry.

Date: 2004-05-25 03:39 pm (UTC)Glad to see you back online! ^__^ And I have about half of an FMA fic to show you-- AAAAAAND the discs came in the mail a bit quicker than I thought; got FMA eps 30-31 and Naruto 80-84 sitting in my living room right now (it's a wee bit crowded, what with ninjas and armored Elrics and all, but I suspect the cats don't mind that much. Hey, wouldn't it be interesting if Al had developed his fixation on ferrets instead of cats? Just an odd thought. A very odd thought, now that I think about it twice. **wince**) So we must have an Anime Night sometime very, very soon. **cheeeeeeeeeeeers**
Not on-line yet *sobs*

Gonna have a stuffed Hawk too? *Grin!*
Yeah, I'm still kinda torn on the dub. Do not care for the children's voices at all. ^^;;
The opening and ending songs are good, now if only they'd stop cutting them short!!!

Date: 2004-05-28 10:20 pm (UTC)Actually, I'm getting used to Conan's voice. My main problem is with Mouri Kogoro. His voice is too *nice*. He doesn't have the gruff "I'm a complete moron" sound to it.
