"Sonoko...." Shin'ichi raised an eyebrow as he looked down at the costume he was wearing. "Are you -sure- this is the correct outfit?"
"Positive." She flashed him a grin and a wink. "Trust me, okay? Would I lie to you?"
In a heart beat.
He grumbled to himself, absentmindedly straightening the waist. "I thought... Ran..."
"Oh, that." The blonde waved his hesitation aside. "There was a last minute change. And since she had to pretty much memorize the other lines as well, it just made sense."
Okay, that much was true. He'd been helping her with the play for long enough that he knew she had pretty much the entire play memorized.
But still...
"Whoop!" Sonoko gave him a shove, pushing him to the stage. "That's your cue! Go for it!"
With one last shove, she pushed him on to the stage, into the blaring lights.
Among the thoughts running through his mind, including ways to murder Sonoko, trying not to trip on the absurdly long hem and hoping to bloody hell that -no one- recognized him, he absentmindedly noted that Ran looked pretty good as the Black Knight.

Ran as the Black Knight, Shin'ichi in the big lacy dress.
Inspired by a scene in 'Brotherhood', a J'z doujinshi. Only they had Kid do his poofy thing and Shin'ichi’s suddenly wearing the dress.
Have I mentioned how much I lurve J'z stuff? Even the lemon scenes have bits of comedy. ^__^ yummy.
Okay, off to deal with socks.

What about Takagi? He ought to be easy-- he's so cute, he might actually look good! And how about Shiratori? Bet he has nice legs. Maybe a departmental challenge among the cops? Weirder things have happened... you could even get Megure in on it (shudder, cringe), with a visit from The Amazing Sleeping Kogoro as an added bonus.
And finally, the ULTIMATE of challenges: Nakamori. In a dress. Now that's entertainment!

Date: 2004-03-22 06:03 pm (UTC)Reading manga uses both sides of the brain at once-- one side for the pictures, one side for the text. This may be connected to the fact that Japanese read a LOT of manga and are also really good at math and science.
Try that one on someone.
