My toaster is cursed.
Mar. 10th, 2004 11:01 pmIcka: My toaster is cursed.
Chibi-Ed: So whaddya want me to do about it? I'm an Alchemist, not an Exorcist!
Chibi-Conan *climbing on a cabinet to get out of reach*: Don't look at me, I just find the dead things!
Chibi-Shinigiami-Hakuba: Oh, for goodness sake...
*Chibi-Hakuba puts an ofuda on the toaster and walks off.*
Chibi-Al: Is it just me, or was the toaster stuck to his butt?
Chibi-Ed: Where the hell did we end up now?!
Somehow, some when, the Voices gained chibies of Ed and Al in addition to the DC/MK cast to play with... o_O
And yes, my toaster really is cursed.

Date: 2004-03-11 07:51 am (UTC)Hmmm... anybody out there know if the superstition that you can spot a kitsune in human form by the fact that they still have fox's feet is an actual piece of mythos of something fic-generated? I forget where I ran across it, but I saw it somewhere... and come to think of it, Shippo's feet in InuYasha look like little paws, don't they?

<-- just got the toilet flushing properly for the first time in 3 weeks.
My sister scared it.
One of my favourite Kitsune legends is about a fox who transforms himself into a samurai, but forgets to change his face ^_^ An inn keeper decides to play a trick on him and asks if the fox wants to wash his face, bringing out a metal bowl with water.
The fox looks at his reflexction and flees out of panic.
The next day, as the inn keeper is walking thru the forest, he hears a voice. It's the fox calling his name. When the guy replys, the fox comments "It was funny yesterday, wasn't it?"
Both of them laugh.

Date: 2004-03-11 11:58 am (UTC)The 'fox paws' (faux pas?) thingie is for a nonfanfic storyline I'm still dreaming up-- something I want to try my hand at. I have it in more-or-less outline form, very messy, but for the most part it concerns a woman from a widespread shipping-magnate family who is of Portuguese descent with a little Japanese thrown in from waaay back in the 1600's; she visits the Japanese branch of her family's company and a few very distant relatives, spends an evening out on the town getting a wee bit plastered (first experience with saki)... and wakes up the next morning butt-nekkid in the park with some very odd and hazy memories. Turns out the Japanese part of her ancestry came straight from a kitsune who fell in love with one of the Portuguese traders (the one who started her family's line of business); the Japanese side of the family is aware of this little anomaly (it pops up once in a blue moon among them), but they've never seen it show up in any of the other branches. Apparently it lies dormant in the family until they touch Japanese soil with their skin for the first time-- and when she got drunk, she decided that walking barefoot in the park sounded like a good idea..... Anyway, it picks up with her coming in on the plane after her trip, arriving in San Francisco (sounded like a good location for the story) and deciding that her memories were saki-based hallucinations. Until her feet start growing fur, pads and little black claws, that is... And then there's the embezzling problem she found in the family business, and the three guys stalking her, and the decapitated body she finds in her bedroom...
Freaky storyline, I know, but it sounds like fun. And I don't know enough about Japan to base a full story *there*, but I CAN base one in San Francisco (though I think I need to make a trip there to gather material). Whatcha think? Think it's doable as a storyline?

Date: 2004-03-11 10:02 am (UTC)ICKA! Still no word from the Hotel or about the luggage pick up. Crossing my fingers. It would be so great if they did!
BTW...does anyone know if you can claim your brother and sisters and parents if you are the one supporting them? Completely supporting them.
Thanks!
PS....Adrian and David have been camping out at my place for the last 2 nights. Wonder if this is the start of a pattern? (grins maniacally) 2 gorgeous bishies on my floor. No problems here.
