Got nothing written, and crashing early tonight. But first, wanted to post a bit of a facts guide.

This is a list of tidbits of information that I've collected to help me write fanfics, such as height, weight, birthdays, name translations and just other odd random stuff for the Detective Conan/Magic Kaitou series. Most of it was found and loosely translated from Japanese fansites or our own observations from the series, so if there's any mistakes, please lemme know and we can correct them.

After all, what good is information if it isn't shared, ne? ~_^

And now, in no order what so ever:


Medium forest blue child - Nakamori Aoko
Medium forest silver three - Nakamori Ginzo
White Horse searching - Hakuba Saguru
Black Feather Fast Water Carrier - Kuroba Kaito (thanks to Loqi)

Ran = A

Hakuba = 29 Aug [Virgo]
Aoko's birthstone is Sapphire. Fan birthday: 26 Sept [Libra]
Akako = Ruby (july) or Garnet (January) -?

-Observations-

Ran, Shin'ichi and Kaito & co are in rooms 2 B in their respective schools. (Teitan and Ekoda)
Conan is in room 1 B in his.

Kid: 134 Heists, 15 in 12 other countries.Total of 152 jewels. Worth 38,725,000,000 yen (now the question is, how much of that is his father?)

Hakuba picked up Watson in England. Watson doesn't like the smell of blood.
Watson is a female Sparrowhawk. ~_~;; (Hauntress and I spent an hour reasearching and look that up one night *sweatdrops*)

In the manga, Hattori calls Kazuha 'Kazuha', no suffix. (In the anime, it sounds like 'Ka-san' to us...)
Conan calls Hattori 'Hattori', no suffix, when in detective mode. In kid mode it's 'Heiji-niichan'.
Conan calls Ran 'Ran-neechan', unless he's panicked, then it's the more familiar 'Ran'.
Kazuha calls Hattori 'Heiji', no suffix. Ran is 'Ran-chan'.
Aoko calls Akako 'Akako-chan'. Akako calls her 'Nakamori'
Aoko calls Hakuba 'Hakuba-kun', and Kaito is just Kaito, no suffix.
Nakamori's men call him 'Keibu', Shin'ichi called him 'Keibu-san'.
Kid calls Nakamori "Nakamori-kun"
Hakuba calls Aoko 'Aoko-kun'

Ran's got the longest hair, Kazuha's is only a little bit shorter than Ran's when loose. Aoko's got the shortest hair, falling a few inches past her shoulders instead of being almost waist length.

Conan/Shin'ichi has trouble thinking or sleeping when Ran falls asleep next to him. Hattori doesn't seem to have this problem around Kazuha.
Kaito seems to smile whenever Aoko falls asleep around him.

Ran is a very heavy sleeper. (gets kicked out of bed and across the room and doesn't stir, sheesh)

Ran is her High School Karate Champion.
Kazuha has a second Dan in Aikido. (the guys may be the brains, but the girls are kick-butt!!!)

Mitsuhiko is good at science.

Yukiko met Yusaku at age 19, Married him at 20, and had Shin'ichi when she was 20/21. He's about a year older.

Biggest sign that the Kid was masquerading as Mouri in Golden Dusk Case: He wasn't afraid of flying in the helicopter.

The license plate on Gin's car is 4869, the same as the toxin. (anime only, never shown in the manga)

And simply because I was bored one night and talking to Loqi: There is an S. Kudo living in my neck of the woods. No, I'm not going to ask them if their first name is Shin'ichi.


Francis Marie: Hauntress and I asked Ann. (Hail, Ann!) It was an older female servant who drove Hakuba to the Sunset Mansion. The riddle has been solved! Huzzah!

Our website turns 4 years old on the 16th of June, so we're gonna try to work on an update for it... New Mascot: Rabid the Plot Bunnie!

Also have to finish No Face's Face and possibly turn Larva into 'The Reaper of the Cards' from Yu-Gi-Oh! We've got the big black scary cloak, and some Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monster cards, just need to get a scythe and I think some different gloves. ^^;; It's gonna be a long weekend too... @_@

Hakuba: "Unfortunately he seems to have picked up a liking for blood during our travels in England." Watson does like blood. ^^; Well, he is a raptor after all.

And a few extras for your list according to the Conan Drill book.

Conan & co. live in Beika, named for Sherlock Holmes's Baker Street. There are also a coffee shop named "Poirot" and a resturaunt named "Columbo" and I think a cafe named "Arsene."

Conan goes to Teitan Elementary, and Ran and Sonoko to Teitan High School. Swtich the kanji and you get the sounds for "tantei" or detective.

Hyde City is named after Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and or Hyde Park in London.

Edogawa Conan's name comes from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Edogawa Ranpo.
The Kudou family gets their name from a Japanese hard boiled
detective named Kudou Yuusaku. (yes, just like Shinichi's dad)
Ran actually gets her name from "Maurice LeBlanc" (Mo-risu Ruburan)the author that created Arsene Lupin.
Kogoro gets his name from Akechi Kogoro, the decective created by Edogawa Ranpo.
Eiri gets her name from Ellery Queen.
Agasa Hakase gets his name from Agatha Christie.
Haibara Ai gets the Ai from V.I. Warshawski, and the Haibara from Cordeilia Gray (Hai means gray)
(I can't read the comments for Heiji and Heizo's name reasons. Sorry)
Toyama Kazuha's Toyama comes from "Toyama no Kinsan" the name of a story, and the Kazuha is one of Aoyama's assistant's wife's name.
Jyouzu Megure comes from a French detective Jules Megure (sp?)

1. The "To" in Kaito is a dipper. Actually the name made no sense (Which is abnormal in Japanese male names), just to made the pun on "Kaitou".

2. "Hei" in "Heiji" meant "peace" not "flat". Altogether, the name meant "Peace-the-second" -- so I did question why there wasn't a older brother of Heiji around, with the name of "XX-ichi" or "XX-ta" (as of Genta). Same case fell to Kogoro; his name is "Youngest-fifth-son".

3. In a Chinese forum we somewhat deduced that Ran and Shinichi had the blood type O. The blood bank might be out of Type O, but running out of Type A is generally impossible.

4. According to Special Version (OK, one of the not-so-official books), In Grade 10 Shinichi and Ran were in Room 1B.

5. Mitsuhiko likes science -- and proclaimed he thinks per scientia.

1. HAIDO, not Hyde town.

2. Please be well-noted that Ai of Ai Haibara was the one that meant sorrow, not the one for love, the latter being the one normally used in names. Agasa proposed the latter Ai, but Shiho insisted on the first Ai...

My blurb:

1. It seemed the town Kaito and co. lived is called Ono, with all the mentioning of this around in MK...

2. Conan-Kaito universe is one that is more reasonable on hair colours, at least not the multi-coloured people around in some other anime... The only character with a unreasonable hair colour, IIRC, is Hideki of Movie 6, who has green hair. Dunno why.

3. Watching Comic Party on TV -- why Taishi can always appear in the most impossible of places? (No, the anime isn't Hentai.)

Samuel Curtis, Shinichian and Hirokian. Asserting Shinichian superiority of course.

Some were found on sites, so I'm not sure how accurate they are, some I noticed while watching the series.

You never know when a strange little odd fact will come in handy in a fic, we've found. ^^;;

Thanks, Ann, Icka, Hauntress, for finding out that canon detail for me. Now I can finally continue it; it got stuck because I didn't want to write separate snips for this first part, it's too hard to write connectors for cases.

It's a bit late, I know, but I finally got around to re-reading my copies of Majikku Kaito (whee!) and came across something... if Hakuba's data is right, Kaitou Kid (and therefore Kaito) is exactly the same height and weight as the numbers you've got for Shinichi. 174cm, 58kg. (And an I.Q. of 400, yeesh!)

Where'd you get the numbers for Shin-chan?

I'm pretty sure no one'll ever see this post, but if you break down Shinichi's name based on the actual words it contains instead of the kanji, you get:
Shin = Truth
Ichi = One

Add in the fact that the Japanese put their names backwards; ie. Kudo Shinichi, you get one truth. Sound familiar?
