[drabble] DC: Ahou-toxin
Feb. 4th, 2004 12:05 amDiscovered by accident that I have disk 1, part 11 of Detective Conan. ^^:; whoops. It's got where Heiji shows up and they visit Jodie-sensei.
... the episodes don't make much more sense to me in the anime than it does in the manga. Still feels wrong Think it's one of those stories they did just so that Jodie could meet Heiji, for future plot stuff. Or something. A stepping stone.
However, Heiji talking to Jodie in better english than she speaks (if slightly british-sounding) was cool. The next sentence (about tonality in speaking) in what sounded like a really bad nasally french accent was just weird. Makes me wonder about Heiji and where he learned.
On the plus side, the episode answered a question for the Vampyre Beach fic. Heiji is a breast man. He was able to recognise Chris Vineyard as the smart sounding American actress with the large chest. Then later was able to assure Conan that Jodie and Chris aren't the same person, because the only similarity is their large chests. *snerks* Bet he's one of those guys who can guess cup size just by looking. (had a few guy friends like that.)
“… that’s aPOtoxin.” Conan corrected his tall friend again with a glare.
”That’s what I said.” Hattori grinned unrepentantly. “Ahou-toxin.”
”No… argh.” Conan rubbed his head to ease a headache from dealing with the Osaka-jin’s bizarre sense of humour. “What -is- it with you and names? ‘Aho-toxin’-“
”Its stupid and its a toxin.” Was the retort. “Ahou-toxin.”
”-calling me ‘Kudo’ all the time-“
”Kudo is Kudo.” Hattori shrugged as if that explained everything. Which it did, to him.
”Hattori…“Conan sighed. “One of these days, we’re going to teach you how to speak Japanese properly.”
Hattori’s battle aura flared. ”Not funny.”
-fin-
From Jodie mistaking Heiji as a foreigner because of his dark skin and funny Japanese (gotta love Kansai-ben), and Heiji's mangling of 'apotoxin'.
Someting interesting, from the Online Medical Dictionary:
Apitoxin
Venoms obtained from Apis mellifera (honey bee) and related species. They contain various enzymes, polypeptide toxins, and other substances, some of which are allergenic or immunogenic or both. These venoms were formerly used in rheumatism to stimulate the pituitary-adrenal system.

Date: 2004-02-04 01:17 pm (UTC)As for Heiji and breasts. Yeah, I can believe that.
Heiji: You say this like it's a bad thing. OW.... KAZUHA!
Kosagi: Explain to me again why I've let a teenage hormone farm run amuck in the acre?

Yeah... ^^;; I got outta the Inuyasha fandom just as it became an anime in Japan. It comes on Cartoon Network, and suddenly there were people constantly harrassing us on-line and ordering us to write fics to entertain them NOW because they're bored and can't be bothered to do it themselves. ~_~ And of course, they know more about the series because they Just Found It and omigosh! It Rulez.
Really REALLY don't wanna go thru that again. *whines*
... sorry. ^^;;
Anyway. Will write DC/MK like mad in the meantime! *salutes!*
And thank you again!
