I'm so giddy I could just barf.

Turned in my resignation today. Gave them 2 days notice, this Friday is my last day at my job.
I'M FREE~! WE'RE FREE~! WWHEEEEHAHAHAHAHAHahahahaa!!!

Yes, fully aware of being catty by not giving them 2 weeks. 2 weeks would put it right at Christmas, but it's not like we get any bonus' for it.

Facts why:
• I'm tired. Seriously. They took the Art department from 12 people to 7, then demand that they turn out the quality and amount of work that 12 did. Only faster. I'm tired of picking up the slack for their fack-ups.
•They're getting rid of yet more people. see 'fack-ups'
•Anything the new supervisor does, is my fault. Because I didn't wanna be supervisor. Yes, was told that point blank to my face. Bullshit.
•Lack of respect. We're in the Art Department because we went to school and got degrees. Yet we're considered and treated as factory workers, i.e. grunts.
•The Stress. I'm not their stress pressure toy to abuse because they're not feeling well. Everything is not my personal fault.
•Yes, unfortunately, money does factor into it. We're loosing our house, and there's nothing in the area we can afford on the pay we currently get.

One of the biggest reasons:
We've asked just about everyone who's questioned our leaving 'What is here for us'.
EVERY single time we've been greeted with a blank face and no answer.
I stayed the past 4 years because my Supervisor asked me.
They fired him.
There's no incentive to stay.

And it's really time to go. We've been in California for about 20 years now, it's past time to be elsewhere. Arizona, New Mexico or Oregon sound really good.
It's time for a change.

WHEEEEEEEEE!!!

Good for you-- I don't blame you ONE BIT. Feels exhiliarating, doesn't it?

So come job-hunt, you! The lumpy futon is still here in the living room! Dunno how the job-market is here for graphic designers (do I know any in Tucson? Uhhhhhhh... that's one of the problems with having so many SCA friends-- you know 'em as "Jaques de Garderobesque" and not "Richard Smith, CPA" or whatever. And they look funny in modern clothes, too) but you can come find out if you want; no prob. And as for the 2-day notice, would *they* have given you any notice at all if they had fired your ass? Nope. So I wouldn't feel guilty at ALL.

Go Icka! Remember that saying about "Bad decisions on your part do not automatically equal a state of emergency on mine"? This is karma in action.

I really don't see why you guys are "treated like factory workers." Art is not a talent everyone has...and it can't really be "learned." You either can do it, or you can't. They really should be more appreciative of artistic people.

Good luck on job/home hunt!

*sits back and waits for news that Icka is now next door neighbor to Ysa*

Freedom! Yay!

Best of wishes in finding a new and better job (and from the sounds of things, that doesn't appear to be much of a challenge! These guys are morons!).

I'd offer you a place on my couch while you look too, but I'm kind of in another country. Still, good luck and go you for getting out of a horrible situation.

Whee! I'm glad you're happy and free now.
I'd offer you couch space, except I'm in a dorm in Massachussetts. ^^; You're welcome to have floor space if you want to visit, though.

Best of luck

Guess you can start out Christmas with an immense feeling of relief, huh? Not much to say since I'm not out in the working world yet but all the best of luck to you! ^_^

I apologize for replying twice but I was just watching Ranma 1/2 episode where some French guy's stealing everyone's lunch.

Ranma: Oi, give it back to them. They're crying.

XD Replace Ranma with Hakuba...

Hakuba: Oi, give it back to them. They're crying.
Policeman #1: I can't take this anymore! How does he do it!?
Policeman #2: I should've listened to my mother and become a cartoonist...!
KK: *sweat drops*

Whoa...

Was not expecting anyone to answer... wow. *touched* Thanks, everyone!! ((MASSIVE GLOMPS!))

Yeah, HUGE relief on my part. Laughed my self silly in the shower last night when it hit just what I did. My parents called to congratulate me as well... very weird. o_O

We've got a rough plan of action for this month, then hit the job market hard on January, when people start doing the serious hiring again.
In the meantime, I'm just gonna be giddy and grateful that we're not completely burnt out.

*dances* ((MASSIVE HAPPY GLOMPS to EVERYONE!))
