[fic] MK: Split. Angst Fic
Oct. 1st, 2003 06:22 amY'know, every so often I think that fanfiction is a refelction of the writers personality or soul.
And then we write stuff like this and I wonder about myself. ^^;;
Anyway, Angst plunnie struck last night before bed. : b

It was ironic, really.
One, stormy blue eyes hiding a calming exterior.
A second, calm golden eyes that hid a passion for life.
The Former that cradled Kuroba Kaito defensively in their heart.
The Latter that embraced the Kaitou Kid by the force of their intellect.
Two people caring for different halves of the same person. Parts of the whole.
A split that was tearing the boy, no, the man apart.
And she, the silent watcher of the conflict.
Not so silent now, as she watched him observing the police cars drive the last of the criminals he had been dodge fighting with for years now.
The ambulances had left earlier, carrying people they had both known and some she didn't away to the hospital.
It was a testimony to both his skill and luck that there had been no deaths.
A sigh escaped him, shoulders slumping slightly as the flashing lights disappeared into the vastness of the city, a duty sworn to a dead father finally fulfilled.
"What shall you now?" She asked him gently.
Kuroba Kaito still had a place in this world after all. One of the rising stars of magic, performing to packed audiences around the world.
But by now, he was equally the Kid as he was Kuroba.
Could one exist as half a person and still be complete?
"I don't know." He commented softly, the breeze that whipped their capes, one white, one black, around nearly swallowing the words up.
He turned to look at her, fathomless purple eyes drained from a long battle he had not started. It hurt to see eyes that had once been so vivid worn and ancient looking. "I'm tired." He admitted.
She stepped closer, reaching up to run her fingers along the side of his face in a matronly gesture. "Would you like to rest?" She offered.
A Third, who saw both sides and where as they once had coveted to hold them close, now wished to grant them what the others could not.
Peace.
His shoulders straighten for a moment, and hope blossomed that he would refuse.
Even the most flexible of saplings, with pressure and the fidgety of age, will eventually snap and break.
Gloved fingers caught pressed against her own, holding them against the slight warmth of his skin. "I think I would like that."

Akako looked out the window of her mansion as her newest servant wandered around the garden, caring for the roses with a carefree expression.
He had once been known as Kuroba Kaito.
He had once been known as Kaitou Kid.
He remembered none of it.
Life was simple. He kept her company, tended his roses and his birds, and he was happy. No dreams of his past haunted him.
All the men in the world were to be her slaves.
Sometimes Akako wished she could cry.

Y'know, one of these days, I'm gonna go back thru and code the subject lines so that I know where the quizes, fics and art is...
