Halloween Report
Nov. 1st, 2003 09:27 pmHappy Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead): and All Saints Day!
Best costume this year has to be the one kid who showed up in a purple bathrobe, curly-haired Dumbledore-looking mask and carrying a glowing green skull.
When asked what he was, he lifted the skull up high and replied "Hamlet."
He got a hug and extra candy for that.
It started raining (a big surprise for So Cal) about 8:30, which effectively cut Trick-or-Treating short. Was having massive amounts of fun passing out candy tho, was making everyone (aside from the ones who couldn't really talk) chant the entire 'Trick or treat' rhyme. (Trick or Treat! Smell my feet! Gimme something good to eat! If you don't, I don't care I'll pull down/pull up/sniff/eat/steal/insert-something-random-here your underwear/panties.) We learned many new endings.
If they didn't know the rhyme or too many people were there at once, asked for a joke, riddle or other rhyme instead. Many Knock-knock jokes were told, and much fun was had by all.
Naraku (the Walking Tampon!) and Larva were also set up outside to keep people out of the garden and scared many people until it started to rain.
Everyone showed up really late, and one car got lost. Very lost. Very Very lost. Which seems to happen a lot when looking for my house when I'm not in the car. But they eventually found it and we all went for japanese barbeque and had lots of fun. Even if I was in danger of passing out after midnight from lack of sleep. (sometimes waking up at 5:23am sucks)
We have also discovered that my living room can sleep 10, if curled up and piled on each other, the futon and the floor like puppies.. Considering that the room without furniture is about 3 metres by 3.3 metres, that's damn impressive. I'm still surprised.
Was really surprised to find out that we had met the Weiss girls from San Diego, at Anime Expo last year, they were the girls we gave Gravitation #1 japanese manga to. One of those really random things. ^_^;; They hadn't realised it was me until they found Naraku hanging in the bathroom to dry. (the head was removed from the bathroom, is kinda freaky to go when is Naraku stareing at you.)
Many many thanks to 'Neechan for the Conan 2004 calender. The pictures are very cool looking this year, I like it a lot better than last years. (could you please pass on to Liz that the One Piece Wallscroll is now above my bed? did a little bit of re-arranging in my bedroom. ^^;; )
Anyway, running around frantically to clean house for the open house tomorrow.
Due to the fact that we LIKE clutter, I'm thinking many things will be hidden in the dryer and the fridge. S'not like they're used much... ^^;;
"There's a stack of bills in the refridgerator."
"Uh, yeah... ignore those."
