So, I managed to catch the last half of Urban Jungle today and noticed something usual.

Please keep in mind I'm not trying to be pervy, this was just an odd observation.

In Parental Bonding, when Danny Fenton asks Paulina out, his pants fall down and he's wearing boxers.
But in Urban Jungle, when Danny Phantom wakes up in the de-icing chamber, hazmat suit in the wash, he's wearing a pair of white y-front breifs. the screencap sucks, looking for a higher-res copy of the episode. please message me if you know where to find one

So... Going Ghost changes his underwear-? o_O?

[edit: Added screencaps, crossposted to [livejournal.com profile] dannyphantom.]

Boxers under that uniform? Leaves messy panty lines.

Y'know, I wondered about that too.
For a hazmat suit, it's really very tight and streachy. >_O

yeah, but then ghost material can do that

It's also self-healing. That hazmat suit is in pristine condition everytime he changes back to Fenton.

It's the Superman Effect - all identity-changing superheroes of the otherworldly powers bent receive self-regenerating suits upon declaring themselves a superhero. :D

As for the original thing...it's strange, but I don't ask questions. Could be boxer-briefs? They look different from different "angles"? Or maybe he just ran out of boxers that day - it happens. *laughs*

What I hate is the Nick skipped about five episodes and ran Urban Jungle before we saw him deal with Vlad at all. *sigh*

Who says he has to wear the same underwear type of underwear all the time.

Have to agree about panty lines. Can you imagine how uncomfortable it would be to have all that fabric bunched up in a tight suit like that?

Heh. Had a discussion about that with a cousin-adoptee of mine, who thinks his t-shirt and jeans should by all rights still be under the hazmat, because they were there when he went in.
Maybe those are what he was wearing that day, and therefore what show up with his self-renewing suit, while anything else is whatever he put on that day in human form? Because there was that interesting bit in Bitter Reunions where he was in his pajamas before and then again after going ghost, where he was in his normal suit...

Wondered in the past before if his suit isn't actually made of some sort of ghost energy. Was really surprised to find out he could take it off. ^^;;

Have added screen caps of the scenes in question to the post. ^^;; (blargh, the copy of Urban Jungle I have is so fuzzy... ~_~)

Yeah, the skipping of the episodes annoys me as well. Granted, I haven't seen the last two of season 2 and the first one of season 3, but it would be nice to know how and when Danny met Frostbite. He seems a rather interesting character.

That was something that Ysabet was commenting on, that his underwear wearing habits probably depend on how much laundry was clean and what hiis mother felt like buying this time.

Yeah, boxers plus skin tight pants just does not work. Bunches and chafes. *laughs*

Whoooo-hooo!
Was just commenting about that to Ysabet, that we should be able to pic up the latest volumes. *wiggles happily*

Would go with the 'it's still under the hazmat suit' theory except for the fact that when his hazmat gets torn in fights, there's nothing underneath it except for skin and the occasional green blood.

What does happen to his clothing when he goes ghost? Or is that actually his clothing, transformed? Mass being mass, no matter what?

Although, I'm still amazed that the hazmat can be taken off at all, much less there is something under it.

Hmm... Another theory could be that Frostbite dressed him in the breifs when he tossed him in the de-icing chamber to give him some modesty.

...and NOW I have this mental image of his mom wondering why there are several ectoplasmic, green-glowing sets of underwear in the laundry hamper. Ones that don't belong to her husband Jack, I mean, because you just KNOW that he's done something tragically supernatural to his underwear at one time or another.

Right. Think I need to go squeegee my brain at this point.

I wonder if he's learned that through experience?

It probably is; if Supes can have a magically regenerating suit, why not?

*laughs*

Seriously, Nick. WTF. But AVATAR OMG. You need to catch up on that show. The first book's DVDs are out. *squee*

i bet that when he first put the hazmat on, he had one breifs, you know, so he doesn't chafe.

So I just thought I'd explore the rest of your site and came across this thread. Seeing as how it's been two years since the topic was posted it's probably a bit late to be throwing my two cents in but what the hell. Since it would totally ruin the Star Wars pun to have Danny in boxers for that scene, I'm operating under the theory that Frostbite loaned him the briefs for modesty's sake.
